"[Removed member name], We understand your frustration. Our lack of prompt communication with you over this past Winters issue was not acceptable, for that we apologize. Unfortunately, over the course of the Winter months and with numerous deliveries, sometimes problems occur and get overlooked. We strive to rectify any issues that come up as soon as they happen, unfortunately when ruts are made we wait until the ground thaws to fix them. Again, not relaying that to you was a communication error on our part. When billing is involved, we try to be as accurate as possible and usually are. This along with the ruts caused by the truck making a delivery have compounded the problem we were both faced with. We have taken steps to prevent these mistakes from happening, although mistakes do sometimes happen. Sincerely, Ace-Robbins"
Something changed in that last few years that affected their performance delivering fuel on a timely basis and record keeping in the office. Issues rose from time to time about this or that. It got to a point where we told them not to make automatic deliveries for fuel oil. However, we wanted automatic deliveries for the propane because the tank they provided did not have a gauge.
The straw that broke the camel's back happened in early January, 2014. Ace Robbins made an unnecessary delivery of fuel oit which we did not request. In that process they drove over our lawn with snow chains spinning the wheels digging trenches completely missing the driveway which was marked with bright stakes. They delivered 33 gallons! Then they left in the same tracks they made through our lawn ignoring the driveway posts. I took pictures of the truck and damage immediately.
I wrote a letter with pictures to the them requesting why they made the delivery without our request and what was their intention regarding the damaged lawn. I made two calls to them since the letter requesting a response. They never responded to me.
Then early March, we ran out of propane for cooking! Their advertising says they guarantee never to run out of propane. The guarantee means nothing. We got propane the next day with the promise they would not charge us for the delivery but they did charge us for the gas.
What more could happen? Get ready.
aI received a notice from Ace Robbins that my automatic payment of $25.00 failed from the bank. And, if payment was not made within a few days they would file and quot;criminal chargesand quot; against me! This in view of the fact that my account had a credit balance (they owed me) a few hundred dollars! That's it! I'm done. I called to talk to management. No response. I drove to their office. Management was not in.
I closed my account and received the balance they owed me.
In searching for another provider for propane, I learned that Ace Robbins was charging me a $1.00 more per gallon than most other providers in the area! That was more than 25% higher per gallon. I was being ripped off.
One good note. They did repair the lawn.
I've learned a lesson to shop around from time to time. Loyalty and respect for its customers has no place at Ace Robbins.
