Home Building
Upon settlement the house has had numerous issues, including but not limited to poor craftmanship, water infiltration, and improper construction techniques.
Craftmanship issues:
1. installation damage to hardwood flooring (bumps, dings, and scratches)
2. Poor molding installation (misaligned, large gaps, not straight)
3. Loose siding on entire face of home (rehung by another Contractor after 2 years)
4. Sloppy painting and finishing throughout
Water infiltration issues:
1. Front door, rear slider, and bedroom window leaked (replacement of several doors and windows)
2. Large leaking crack in foundation, which the builder would only patch and not fill
Improper constrcution techniques:
1. Entire roof was nailed improperly resulting in shingle loss in high wind (roof replaced by another contractor after 2 years)
2. Driveway does not meet street cut-out, improper land planning and layout resulting in difficult navigation on driveway.
3. Existing deck was flashed improperly next to house, stairs did not meet code (entire deck refaced and stairs rebuilt after 2 years)
While the home builder tired to remedy some of the problems, the solutions where not the best practice and most items were argued. After the one year mark, they were unresponsive as expected with issues still open.
We would not recommend this home builder and certainly would not buy another home from them. That is the consensus of most neighbors in the development.
