HAINES TREE SVC

I found the ad on craigslist for firewood. Called about getting some firewood delivered was told will deliver one day this week. I didn't get a phone call the day before, the next contact from him was at 6:40 am stating he was going to deliver "today". When he arrived he started calling because there were cars in the driveway. Neither calls were answered because like most people I don't do business this early in the morning. If I had received a call the day before (like other businesses do) the cars would've been moved and the check would've been ready. Due to no prior notice there was no check ready. He texted and asked if I could have a check put by the front door and i said it would be ready after 5. He said he couldn't make it that night so I wrote the check and put it in the mailbox for him to pick up at his convenience. He thought it would still be at the front door (I'm not leaving a check at the front door all night) he proceeded to keep calling and ringing my doorbell which awoke my whole (sick) family! If the check wasn't there (due to any miscommunication) he could've called once and I could've mailed him the check. Very unprofessional to continuously ring someone's doorbell and call their phone at 6:45 am!!! I don't think anybody conducts business at that time in the morning unless it's agreed upon by both parties!

The owner returned my call promptly, and came out and gave me an estimate that was much lower than the first company I contacted.  I hired them on the spot.  The job was performed within just a few days.  We weren't home when they came, but we got home and the dead tree was gone and the dead branches were trimmed from another.  There was no mess at all, and no way to tell they had even been there, except that the job was done!  I was very pleased, and will definitely use them again, as we have a lot of trees. 

Removal of very large tulip tree which was rotted at the base. It required a crane to bring down the trunk without harming the driveway.  They did fine.

Craig is great. Down to earth honest guy who squeezed us in during height of storm season. I had asked for a recommendation on how to prune an ugly tree and he said not to put money into it as its not a viable tree. He was patient as I hemmed and hawed on what we could afford. And his prices were right in line with his competitors who didn't seem to have half the knowledge. Great experience.

Craig Haines has all the right Boom trucks and Chippers to do residential and commercial work. He tells me he has been doing this since 1992. He solves difficult tree work where electric wires are present, I have used his services twice in the past and called upon others for quotes. He provides a valuable service that is remarkably price competitive. He gave us a quote that was far better than Rick's Tree Service. Did the work promptly even when there was a lot of calls after the storm. Yes my family would use him again, in the event of a storm.

Used Haines first in 2008 and we're very satisfied with work. Contrary to when I contacted Craig in 2012 when he didn't return phone calls for the estimate he was to provide for a smaller job. When I finally reached him, he said and I quote "I felt you were trying to taking advantage of insurance company." We had just had a tree fall on our house for the 2nd time and found it quite surprising that Craig had no problem doing the work the first time we had an insurance claim for a tree falling on our house. Would not recommend this company to anyone. Find someone more prompt and honest, there is plenty others on Angie's List.

It went very well from start to finish. Jim Haines called me back the day after I left a message describing my job. He let me know he could stop by and see the trees to be removed and leave me an estimate in next couple of days. Jim called me within two days to let me know the quote and he left me a business card with the quote. His bid was substantially lower than the other bidder on the job. I called him back to agree to his bid, and he said he could do the job that day, and within 20 minutes he and his team were taking down the trees. Jim was very careful to cut the trees as close to the ground as possible - as a result, the stumps are barely noticeable. I would hire Jim again - i am very pleased.

They did a good job and I would recommend them.

When we first moved in we had a wooded lot. We used them to remove some trees. They gave us a really good price. They were very professional and had a great price. He does a lot of work in the area and he drove by and saw the tree. He put a note on my car saying he saw the tree, this is what he would charge, and to give him a call if he could help. He came out and looked at the tree to see if we could only remove what had fell, or if it was a safety hazard to leave the other part up. He gave us a good price on that. I was confused at the pricing to take the whole tree down and when I got the bill it was more. I called him and he explained it, but he still split the difference with me, which I appreciated. They are in and out. I have used them several times over the last few years.
