Because the water damage was extensive, and on multiple floors, they got to work immediately. Greg started removing baseboards and pulling carpet while Brian walked me through each and every step they need to accomplish. I had never filed a claim with my homeowner's insurance, so Brian walked me through the process, and provided me with a quick estimate. As I was nervous about how my claim would proceed, and wanted to make sure I could pay for the services, Brian split out the estimate for me, and actually worked with me to decide to hold off on pulling up the hardwood floor (required) until I had received some direction from the insurance company. Once we had decided to proceed with the limited work, he revised the estimate, and gave me a "not-to-exceed" estimate, which really set my mind at ease. He and Greg then proceeded to finish pulling apart all of the damage. Greg and Brian worked steadily throughout the day, always explaining what was going on, taking great care with all of my belongings (even the damaged ones) pointing out what they had seen in the past for insurance claims, and how to go about reporting a recording the damage to the house, my furniture, and various other claimable items. Both Brian and Greg were extremely friendly and personable, and I was immediately at ease with both. Upon completion of the required demolition, Brian and Greg set up the required equipment, explained its operation and how to deal with any issues, and set up the schedule for the remainder of the week. They left my house at 5:30 PM on on a Sunday afternoon, after working for 8 hours straight, and after receiving a call and arriving less than an hour later!
Throughout the remainder of the week, Brain stayed in constant contact with me, updating me on the progress, and when I received confirmation on the floor from my insurance company, he, Greg, and Gerry all showed up the next day, and proceeded to remove the floor. The were quick and professional, removing only what was required, and they worked with me to make sure that I retained as much access to my house as absolutely possible. Again Brain, Greg, and Gerry were all extremely friendly, and made me feel extremely at ease.
Un-Flood-It provided me with fantastic service, as they were punctual, polite, trustworthy, hardworking, and most importantly to me, very communicative. They worked with me to provide me with several options, and made sure I was comfortable with everything that was happening before moving forward. I did not feel any of the pressure or unease that I usually associate with having contractors in my house, I was extremely impressed with professionalism and expertise of everyone I encountered at Un-Flood-It. The invoice they provided was clear an concise, and was directly in line with the estimates that had provided me throughout the process (no surprises!) In fact, my insurance company informed me that the report that I received from Brian was cleaner, and far more thorough than the one they received from their inspector!
While I hope to never have to require their services again, I would hire Brian, Greg, and Gerry in a heartbeat again, and I would definitely recommend their services to anyone requiring water damage mitigation! Thank you guys for making this trying time as painless as possible!
They were more expensive than the company we had used in the past, but overall they did a much better job.
