smart, engaged and supremely knowledgeable about the subtleties of the real
estate market in and around Swarthmore. She has incredible local connections,
both for making improvements and for obtaining the scuttlebutt that can affect
the sale and its price. Because of her years of experience, she can see around
corners and handles each of the many steps of the sale and negotiating process
with considerable finesse. I recommend her unconditionally and will use her
again in the future. She fearlessly tames the dragons of the biggest purchase
you will make in your lifetime.
I went to an open house and was interested in that property, so the listing agent put me in touch with another agent in that office as I didn't want to do dual-agency. Within a few hours I was contacted by Carrie to set up a time to return to view the house again. I was impressed with the quick hand-off and follow up.
Subsequent to that, I enlisted Carrie's help as my official buyer's agent.
But first.... to the other reviewer - wow. That's a horrible thing to comment on. Also, you have the choice, at any given time, to cease your agreement with any agent. If you weren't happy, YOU, as the seller, should've taken the initiative to find a different broker. No one here to blame but yourself. Plus, who knows what kind of condition your house was in, how it was showing? Location? Price? You cannot lay the blame on a realtor for that stuff. Not to mention you're talking about a period of time where many, many houses were languishing on the market.
Having said that...I have had a GREAT experience with the folks at this agency. They KNOW Swarthmore and the surrounding areas. They are nice, smart and treat you like a valued customer - I feel like I've made new friends in the community. They are ethical, committed to helping their clients and aren't pushy sales people.
I am working with Carrie Piccard as my buyer's agent and she's awesome! She's nice, responsive, flexible, easy-going and wants to make the process as easy and fun for me as she can. She's also being very patient with me as I've had some road bumps and indecision around buying vs. renting, staying in the area, etc. She's dedicated to helping me find a place that works for me.
I would highly recommend the team here - you're buying (or selling) a house - it's not like buying a car. It's a completely different transaction. I totally appreciate her help and count on her knowledge and understanding of the area to make a smart decision that I'll be happy with.
been given to me prior to settlement for all the work done and the appliances and it was NEVER received.
The realtor for the seller was just anxious to go to settlement so that she could go on her holiday. D. Patirck Welsh did not present me well. It was not the best experience in purchasing a home.
They used to be one of the premier agencies in this area, family owned. But they are not what they used to be.
