About us

Pocono Sew & Vac has been serving our customers for over 30 years. From our humble beginnings in 1979 in a small storefront, with Bob handling the sewing machines and Fran fixing vacuums, we have grown into our location on Main Street in lovely downtown Stroudsburg, in the heart of the beautiful Pocono Mountains. Our 7000 square foot facility boasts a large showroom with a tremendous array of demonstration machines that you can "test drive" and “try before you buy” with all types of fabrics. We also have over 5000 square feet of warehousing space, so we very rarely run out of anything and our customers can count on us to have what they need. Bob and Fran are no longer alone. They now have a staff of over 15 people, most with 10-20+ years of industry experience, working to provide the extensive knowledge and service that our customers have come to rely on. Our dedicated service department can also provide parts and repairs for all models of home sewing machines. To augment our extensive machine line, we also carry a wide variety of sewing notions, accessories and computerized sewing software. Along with an impressive selection of embroidery designs to purchase, we also offer a variety of design software programs from companies like Designer's Gallery for those who want maximum flexibility with their designs. For those who do want the power to digitize their own designs, we offer robust programs like PE Design Next and Generations. If you need it, we have it!!! As part of our continued efforts to serve the Quilters out there, we have expanded our fabric lines and carry approximately 3000 bolts at 20% off from the best designers, including some new Civil War and Asian prints. We also have a 40% off rack with up to 400 bolts, and our club members enjoy even greater savings. We have customers that travel from miles away to shop our vast fabric collection. We have also added 2 classrooms to our facility to accommodate our growing education department. Our expert teachers offer lessons and specialty classes designed to benefit beginners, as well as the most advanced sewer. We offer it all!

We service, carry parts, and sell sewing machines from the top twelve brands: Janome, Brother, Elna, Baby Lock, Juki, Husqvarna Viking, Bernina, Necchi, Pfaff, Singer, and Handi Quilter. We also offer in-store classes on the use of these machines. We also service, carry parts, and sell five brands of vacuums: Dyson, Miele, Sebo, Panasonic, and Oreck. We also service and carry parts for NuTone and Modern Day Central Vacuum systems.

Services we don't offer

We do not repair Dirt Devil and Shark vacuums.

The location of this provider wasn't easy to find, and not impressive once found. Considering it is a vacuum repair business, I was a bit surprised to see how cluttered and dirty it appeared. That being said, my vacuum was repaired, at a reasonable price (and more importantly, the quoted price) and in the time frame promised. All in all I was quite satisfied with the repairs provided.
Description of Work: Repaired vacuum cleaner by unclogging hose.

We have purchased a couple of vacuum cleaners from them over the past 25 years. Sales staff is knowledgable, friendly and responsive. Service dept is competent, fast and their prices are reasonable.
Description of Work: We purchased a Miele vacuum cleaner. Very satisfied with the vacuum and the sales experience.
