He delivered the wood in the rain, which wasn't ideal, but I was glad to get it vs. not at all (we ordered late and didn't have lots of options). The bigger issue is the wood wasn't well seasoned, which it was supposed to be, and most of the pieces were bigger than we'd like. We did get a lot of it, so the quantity delivered was fine.

It went excellent. As a matter of fact, I am going to be hiring them again. It was a lot of work. Responsiveness is absolutely an A. I would use them again, absolutely.

Casey built 3 new wood tie walls, backfilled with stone, and topsoil and then planted assorted shrubs. He matched height of the corresponding older walls on the right of the steps (see photos) which have been done over the past 15 years. The new walls are about 25' long each with a angled curve to follow the grade. In addition he mulched the front of the house, trimmed all the shrubs around the property and delivered 2 cords of wood. Casey is easy to work with and showed up as planned to complete the work as agreed. He guarantees the shrubs for a year and so far they are doing great. He has been great about replacing the few shrubs in the past that didn't do well after he planted them.

Casey is wonderful, we had a prior contractor who started the job, accepted the down payment and never came back, he made a complete mess of our yard it was a nightmare! We were having my mother's 75th birthday/family reunion a few weeks away and the contractor promised to be done with the job instead we were stuck with a disaster and no one wanted to pick up his mess. Thankfully Casey was very sympathetic to our problem. He came exactly when he said he would every day until the job was complete. This is only the second time I could honestly say we found a great contractor who was prompt, reasonable, and honest. A quality I was unable to find in the prior contractors we hired. We rely heavily on reviews and know in the scheme of everyday life sometimes there just isn't enough time to sit and write a review but because of our financial disaster, I make it a point to do so now! I'd like to save others from the nightmares we've experienced.

went fine, good quality wood, a lot need more splitting, that seems to be normal. When wood is split and re-stacked the stack gets small. I questioned the size of the cord. I believe this was the biggest cord so far from a total of four suppliers.

Have used Casey for 20 years so I know him well.  He's built a few retaining walls for us as our house and lot are all on a hill.  One problem I've talked to him about is an area of our lot that is a steep hill that connects our top level grass area with our lower grass field.  As we've been here over 20 years the trees have grown and keep this area in the shade so it has been tough to keep grass on the hill.  That ends up being mostly mud, rocks and weeds.  My wife hates cutting down trees so our options were to again try to grow grass, stone it or terrace it.  The last two are out because I need to get my mower from the top grass to the bottom grass.  Casey came up with the idea of putting in steps along the area that is the biggest problem and leaving a grass strip so I can still run the mower up and down.  
It would have been cheaper to go with wood ties, but we have a few block walls already as well as a set of block steps from our driveway down to our lower parking lot.  So Casey said he'd try to match the existing block features.  He would also seed the more open side and put mulch along the side with all the trees that has the most erosion.
It took 3 days to complete but it came out really nice.  Most of our walls are gray colored block but we have a really old block wall that is beige.  Casey added some beige block to tie that in.  Looks better than I originally envisioned.  Hopefully the grass grows next to the steps, but now the eroded area is covered by the steps and a few feet of mulch on the side by the trees.  Should have done this years ago.

Mr. Casey was great.  He responded the following day to my Angie's list request.  After speaking with him, he scheduled a time to meet me at my home, at my convenience.  He went over the walkway project with me, brought samples/pictures of material, made suggestions, etc. After Accepting his proposal, he gave me a target week; He called the beginning of that target week, scheduled a day and showed up bright and early.  The work went smoothly.  Project actually finished early.   I was left with a beautiful, paved walkway - with the pavers he suggested - which matched my home perfectly.
The positive completion of that project led to Mr. Casey doing the installation of the shrubs to the surrounding area, with backfilling. Again, he listened to what I wanted,  made suggestions and scheduled a day.  He showed up and completed the project seamlessly, incorporating things I wanted with a color scheme that I love.  
I am truly a happy customer.   I am now  in good hands for all of my future landscape needs.
Mr. Casey was accommodating to my schedule, his prices were fair, he is extremely knowledgeable, he explained what each job would entail, he answered all my  questions, listened to my vision, incorporated his expertise  and left me with a pleasant, calming and warm front view.
I must also mention that, along the way, Mr. Casey found  issues with my home, which he brought to my attention to address. - I found this to be an exceptional quality.

READ THE REVIEWS.  I dismissed the negative reviews about J Casey assuming it was just a bad day (for him or the reviewer).  J Casey is very rude, unprofessional and argumentative.  I really wish I would have trusted the other negative reviewers who all said the same thing.  STAY AWAY!

     We had the very fortunate experience recently to hire John Casey for our landscaping project.  Our 16 year-old patio had finally succumbed to too many Pocono winters and was in dire need for total re-construction.  John Casey came to our rescue! His extensive experience along with his enormously high work rate were exactly what we wanted and needed.  John, along with his assistant Dylan, demonstrated professionalism, promptness to work and enormous energy from early in the morning and throughout the day in order to complete our beautiful new patio in three days as promised. Their work was exacting in every detail and carried out in a meticulous manner.  We are extremely pleased and won't hesitate to use their services again in the future!

Went well. He called the week before to give me a date, showed up on time and completed all the work in 2 days.   We?ve had several block walls installed throughout our oroperty over the decades which were hard to match color.  John found a new block that has multi hues of gray in it to match the older block. The wall looks great as does the rest of the work that was done.

Worked with architect Mike Gable and prepared site for drainage improvement.  Driveway area was excavated and trenched and pipe was installed as per approved drainage plan.  All materials were disposed of in accordance with PA Deps Solid Waste Management regulations.  Job was done in a timely and clean manner.  We would high recommend this company and appreciate all their good work.

Mr. Casey responded promptly to my call, gave me several dates that he could complete the work, called ahead to make sure it was OK and arrived promptly as promised.  He cleaned my whole property of debris (leaves etc.).  He completed the job in a timely manner and I would definitely use his Company again.  Very reliable and professional.

They were handy and available. Time-wise, they weren't able to show up right away but they were very careful about calling before they make it to make sure we would be available.

I had an issue with water getting into my house from recent rain storms because the water would flow in from my driveway and garden and to the house. I hired John to help me keep the water away. He had a few suggestions and we decided to try the cheapest option which included work that I had planned on doing in the future anyway with paver installation. He installed the new pavers up higher than the old ones and graded them away from the house. He also installed borders around the driveway so that extra water would not flow into the garden/house. A few very heavy rainstorms later and I've had no issues with water or even localized flooding in my garden. The new pavers also look 100% better than the old ones.

We've used John Casey for a couple of decades now and whenever we need something done outside I just call him.  He and his crew showed up as promised and had called the night before to tell me he was coming and what time to expect him.  John had installed our driveway a few years ago after the original sank in the middle.  John dug down and found where the original driveway installer had used a now rotten tree trunk as filler which caused the driveway to sink.  No problems since the new driveway was installed but we have been having him seal it every two years since then.  He always works around our schedule which is helpful.  All the other work was mostly cleaning up after this past winter.  He did a good job and always leaves things cleaned up.  
This year we got wood early to replace all the wood we used this past winter.  We've been getting wood from John for almost 20 years.  His price is always fair and I know I get what is promised.  The wood is clean and all hardwood.  I only paid $210 a cord and he stacked it, but from what I hear this is going to be another bad winter so the price is most likely going up the closer we get to the first snow fall.

If you are planning to hire a landscaper, this is the person you should hire.  We are on our fourth landscape firm and he and his team are by far the best people we have ever worked with.  I will note that I asked another firm to bid on the business.  When the guy got here he spent the entire time telling me everything that previously landscapers on the property had done wrong and how hard the job would be.  He seemed like he didn't want the business.  
With J. Casey, there wasn't a single negative comment, he showed up exactly when he said he would, walked around and immediately started to offer solutions.  He even pointed out things that he would do "just because they needed to be done".  He thoroughly walked us through the entire job.  He showed us a book with pavers to chose from ( both a catalogue and his own photos) then the next day he brought the samples over for us to look at and make a decision.  He gave us a bid on the job on the spot.  He promised to start as soon as possible and indicated that he hoped to be here before the end of May.
Like clockwork, he started the job on the Friday before Memorial day AND he and the team worked the morning of Memorial Day.  I couldn't believe it!.  For the entire week, they showed up promptly each day  at 7:30AM and got down to business, working straight through to 2-3 in the afternoon.  They left the property as neat as possible each day and at the end of the job they left it cleaner than when they came.
The quality of the work was superior and beautiful.  They took great pride in making sure everything was done perfectly.  This was a hard job, they had to carry pavers, mulch and heavy equipment up and down a flight of natural stone boulder stairs to reach the patio.  I was amazed had how hard they worked.  As hard as the job was Casey always had a smile on his face and his team was extremely polite.
He offered advice on how to maintain the work done and we will have him come back to help us keep it in great condition.

We contracted J. Casey Landscaping for some problems areas around our home, one being a steep hill where nothing would grow and the other an area where an aboveground pool once stood and was now just a giant litter box for the feral cats which we take care of. Both area's were subject to wash away and erosion in heavy rain.  Casey was here right on time with an idea and estimate and we hired him on the spot.

He arrived early Monday morning  May 19th with 3 helpers and by the end of day 1, we were confident that we had hired the right person. Despite the rain...yes they worked in the rain...they finished the job the afternoon of May 22nd, 1 day ahead of schedule. We could not be happier and are already planning the next project for him to do for us.

Casey is very professional and knowledgable. He cleaned an mowed my lawn, trimmed bushes, laid moloch, etc... He gave my house, which was purchased as a foreclosure, some curb appeal. He also installed a split rail fence with mesh lining in the back, about 500 linear feet. It came out great and my dog really enjoys the space. Casey's prices are very reasonable for the work performed. I am currently still using Casey to maintain my lawn.
