Finally on 3/14/11 they returned unannounced and began cutting the wood. It was a bad time for me since I was on my way out and was going to be gone for the rest of the day. Foolishly, since I was going to be gone, I gave them a check for the other $1000 (made out the same way) and as soon as I turned my back, they were gone. They of course cashed the check the same way. Then they put a free classified add in the free column of the Pocono Record advertising free firewood to anybody who would cut it and haul it away. They got a taker and gave him directions to my house. I was away all morning on 3/16/2011 and when I returned at noon there was a stranger in my driveway with a pickup truck cutting up and taking the wood. They briefly returned on 3/18/2011 to check if the taker of the free wood showed up, and when i asked them when they were planning to take the last tree down, they said it was not part of the original deal and wanted an additional $450 to remove it. I refused to pay them any extra and the tree is still standing. On 3/22/2011 Daniel Lane returned early in the evening with a larger truck and hauled away one truckload of branches. There are several more truckloads to be removed but I haven't seen them since. Again after several phone calls, they did not return any of them. As of this writing on 4/5/2011, I just hired a student who does yardwork for me to clean up the mess and haul the branches into the woods in back of my house.

Beware - these are con men and I got conned. Chris Strunk and Daniel Lane Early in the fall I had some trees that needed to be removed. At that time I paid $650 a day for 3 days work (I've since learned I was way overcharged). They cut down the trees, trimmed some limbs, and removed most of the debris. However, I should have been leery because on day 2 I had to call them at 10:30 because they didn't show up. They told me they had emergency tree removal and would be there. On day 3 they told me they had about a half day left and would reduce the price. That day they worked very quickly unlike other days. I learned that their work day is 7 hours and about half of that is trips to the dump. On 11/29 they just showed up and told me they noticed I had a tree with a crack in it and it should come down. With winter coming and strong winds, I was concerned. They said for $500 the would cut it down and come back with a splitter and clean up. They gave me a sob story and II was stupid and paid them - cash. Dan has a new baby and they said they really needed the money (but that was a lie - I learned Dan is separated and his wife has a baby with someone else). I waited until Thursday to contact them. Dan said they were on a job and would call me back. On Monday, December 6,since I hadn't heard from them I called at 9:00. Dan said Chris was supposed to call me and put Chris on the phone. Chris does all the talking for Dan. First there was an excuse that Dan locked his keys in the truck. Then the truck wouldn't pass inspection. Finally, when I called again Chris pretended he didn't know who I was. I now have a huge tree that is laying partially on my neighbor's property and I barely have room to get in and out of the driveway. I have to find someone to take this tree away before we get a foot of snow. It is going to cost me an additional $160 to get this tree cut up and hauled away. I also learned that Cut & Go has pulled this scam on several other people - elderly people like me. Even worse, there was nothing wrong with this tree. It was a live oak that has been killed by these con-men.
