Seems to be good so far. Seemed unusual for payment, requested cash only, then was really difficult to get an invoice showing that we actually paid the bill.

Tom and his team did a quality job. They had to repair a 1920's 2 story brick wall that began to migrate away from the house. They did a good job in making the wall plumb again, feathered the repair into the existing brick, reused the brick and matched the grout. Tom explained the process and it went as he described. When they were done, they cleaned the space as if they had never been there. We had a loose soffit after the repair and Tom came back free of charge to repair the soffit. Very capable team.

It was great. Fair price. End product was flawless. Came on time. Performed work in a timely manner. Did some extra work for no charge. Would recommend to anyone needing Masonry work done.

Tom was fantastic to work with! I have anxiety issues and Tom was there to calm me down through the whole project. I felt so much better once he told me that "this is just Pittsburgh" it happens all the time, I didn't feel nearly so crazy thru it all. The work looks fantastic and Tom has a high standard that he keeps himself to that you don't find much of in this world today. I highly recommend him for your brick laying needs!!!!

Hired Tom from Johnson Masonry in the summer of 2022 to replace foundation and refinish the surface of my front porch. The worked performed was highly unacceptable from the start and was left incomplete. The initial work was originally completed, and the finishing surface was inappropriately cured and left looking worse than it started. When he came back to fix this problem that he created, he then ruined the vinyl siding of my house, which he then had to replace, leaving an obvious difference in appearance of the old and new pieces (second problem). Once this was fixed, he did not accurately communicate the limitations of the surfacing agent to us, which was then ruined by a rubber welcome mat placed on the porch. Neither of us knowing this would occur, he claimed he would fix it once the weather was nice again as this occurred in the winter. After multiple attempts to contact Tom, it has now appeared that he has blocked my number without ever coming to fix this problem, leaving my porch incomplete and destroyed. This is extremely unacceptable work and very unprofessional. His communication skills are terrible and when he does communicate the language is vulgar. I would not recommend Johnson Masonry to anyone as the work he left knowingly unfinished is horrible and the customer service/communication skills Tom possesses is atrocious. Please avoid this company at all costs. – Art M

Tom Johnson and his crew were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Professional & meticulous in their work, they kept us constantly apprised with what they were doing throughout the process. They completed everything within the scope of the proposal and then some. The porch resurfacing & sealing was the most dramatic improvement, both in terms of preservation and enhanced looks. Great job all around! We were especially impressed that Tom worked right along side his crew throughout the entire job. Would definitely recommend his service to anyone & plan to use him again for a future project.

Johnson Masonry Restoration did an exemplary job rebuilding a block wall, which was caving in the entrance to my basement in my home. They completely dismantled the old wall and built a new one to replace it. For the second job, they completed a new drainage system down my walkway which now redirects the water which was running down when there was extensive rain. Mr. Johnson and his crew fixed my chimney by creating a new cap on the structure. Finally, the crew smoothed out a large crack in my patio and applied it to resurface to even out the patio. When I first contacted Tom Johnson he displayed professionalism as we worked through a bid on the job. The price was reasonable and the timeline for completion of the project was fair. At all times all of the employees of the company were polite and answered my questions and reassured me along the way. I would highly recommend this company to complete all your needs for masonry restoration. Great job!

Great, work was preformed in a timely Manor and looked great

Sloppy re-pointing. Had to call back out because they left gaps and holes in the new mortar. never came back for acid wash and sealer. Owner even told me they came and did it on a day I was home working all day (no one was ever there). Extremely unprofessional, would recommend looking for someone else.

Tom and his crew were very professional, timely and did excellent work. I couldn’t be more pleased with the drainage system they put in with a stacked stone retaining wall, and the restoration of my historic landmark brick home. They get a 5 star rating from this very satisfied customer!

It was poor, the initial quote from time to the other service. He only do some of the other services requested. He was paid in cash for more money than what he did. The resurfacing of the concrete looks awful, they didn't seal it, as soon as he got paid, he left without finishing the work. I would not recommend him to anyone, he's been paid in cash and do not pay taxes on that money.

Johnson Masonry Restoration solved a challenge that everyone else failed at. They showed confidence and took ownership of the challenge of fixing two leaks through a roll roof in my town house near the chimney. These leaks have been a recurrent problem since before I bought the house over ten years ago. I had three highly rated roofing companies, who only work on flat roofs, attempt to find and repair this problem. One company returned three times, had a team of people crawling around on their hands and knees to inspect the roof deck, and had no success. Larger roofing outfits would try to sell me a whole new roof instead of taking responsibility for the issue I was trying to solve. I decided to hire a mason to parge the chimney, as I thought that perhaps the chimney was the source of the problem. Johnson Masonry Restoration was extremely confident. They guaranteed their work. They said that if the problem wasn't fixed, they would return until the problem was fixed. Well, they found the problem where others did not. The chimney, while deteriorating, did not turn out to be the source of the leaks. They were able to identify the area of the roof causing the leak and patched it up. I waited over a month to write this review simply because I am in disbelief that the problem is actually gone. Johnson Masonry Restoration took responsibility for the problem I needed fixed and got the job done in a total of four hours. I would not hesitate to do business with them again and I would recommend their work to anyone.

Tom was excellent to work with. He was responsible and checked in with me to make sure I was happy. He made sure the work was done to my satisfaction. He provides an excellent value for his services. Very quick to respond to quote request. The repair was done within a week. The guys were very knowledgeable and friendly. Work did not feel rushed. Took time to answer questions and explain what they planned to do. They were able to find stone that matched existing stone. They made sure to review finished work with me and made sure I was happy with it before leaving. I would definitely recommend and hire again for future work.
