"[Member Name] paid $315.00 for a fixed price snow removal contract in the 2013-2014 winter. The driveway is very small, hence the low price. This was a low priority agreement in the beginning, which simply means that the job priority is on our route by geographical order, ( i.e we won't have to deviate from our route to get the job done by a certain time.) Unfortunately a new employee missed the stop on the 2nd snowfall, (we serviced it within 15 minutes of receiving the phone call) and after that Mrs. Woodward insisted we have the driveway clear at a certain time of day. That would not be an unreasonable request, if the client was paying for a high priority agreement, however this client was not willing to upgrade to that type of agreement. We always arrived within 3 hours of snowfall ending, but 3 times it had been shoveled already. Several times we cleared it early (although it was still snowing heavily) trying to accommodate the client's schedule, only to have it snow another 3 inches by the time she left for work, in which case she didn't seem to notice that it had been cleared, and we would still get a complaint, too put it mildly. And then we would go back and clear it again. I don't think [Member Name] would have gotten the amount of work done for the $315.00 she paid from any other company, we lost a lot of money on that job because of the severity of the winter, and now a negative review as well. Below are the service dates, times, and accumulations we serviced the property. 11/26/13 1-3 inches 6:30 AM 12/9/13 1-3 inches 1:30 PM 12/14/14 4-8 inches 10:00 AM (already cleared) 01/3/14 3-6 inches 10:38 AM 1/18/14 3-6 inches 9:30 AM (already cleared) 1/22/14 1-3 inches 10:23 AM 02/3/14 1-3 inches 12:04 PM 2/5/14 1-3 inches 10:00 AM (already cleared) 2/10/14 3-6 inches 2:04 AM 2/13/14 6-9 inches 3:41 PM 2/18/14 3-6 inches 8:30 AM We have no control of the snowstorms timeline or township plowing schedules. The employees "relieving themselves behind the house in the middle of the night" is unprofessional, I apologize for that, and this is the first I had even heard of it. We serviced over 50 accounts per snowfall, and there are bound to be incidents when equipment breaks, slippery conditions delay, and the overall harsh climate and demanding nature of the snow removal business leave a residential customer who paid a pittance (expecting premium service) with some shoveling to do. Unfortunately for the hardworking self employed individual, those are usually the most demanding customers."
