Went well. Showed up on time. Very nice crew. They wore booties over their shoes for the indoor work and did everything possible to protect our home. Efficient. Professional.

I have been using Allied for over 7 years now. They are responsive, responsible, and professional. However, because they run a big operation and employ a large number of technicians whose expertise varies somewhat, there is also a variation in the quality of the service you may get on any individual call, depending on the caliber of the service technician assigned to you. Yet, all of them have the basic expertise and at the end of the day,the company always stands behind their service and makes sure that the repair is done properly and that you are satisfied with the outcome.

Easy and FAST to schedule an appointment.  Tech was familiar with our system and knew exactly what to do.  He laid out the options for detecting the leak vs. replacing the system.  Well-trained and plenty of experience.

The two servicemen arrived on time and were courteous and professional. While they had a little trouble figuring out was wrong with the doorbell, they were open and honest and did get it fixed. Took about 2 hours.

We have used this company a couple of times and they have always been great. They come as soon as possible, perform the service promptly without trying to pad the bill with extra parts and/or service you really don't need. We have resolved to call them for all our our service needs of this type.

The initial work was done as scheduled. The next day one of the furnaces would not run (it seemed ok before the maintenance). A return visit was immediately scheduled and furnace was fixed quickly.

Let me quote the letter I sent to Allied Mechanical and Electrical on December 19,2012 as this sums up my experience dealing with the previous 9 years.
Mr. *******,
Work order number 102519
I am inquiring as to why I was invoiced $227.00 to correct a problem caused by an Allied Mechanical and Electrical service technician. As previously stated on a phone call to Ms. *******, The system was working fine until your technician was here to perform a winter maintenance check on November 21, 2012 (work order 96149). On December 10,2012 another service technician was dispatched. Who at that time found that and quot;Alland quot; the refrigerant had leaked out of heating system (work order 102405). Now on December 18,2012 (work order 102519) I find out we had to write a check (number 3760) to pay for parts, refrigerant, and a and quot;trip feeand quot; to make the necessary repairs. At this time I respectfully request that Allied Mechanical and Electrical refund my $227.00.
The response I got was a and quot;e-mailand quot; dated January 7, 2013 and was as follows
Good Afternoon,
In response to your letter. The leak in the system was a faulty shrader access port. We only billed for the material and a trip fee. I believe this to be a fair compromise. Please let me know if you have any questions.
The and quot;FAIRand quot; compromise he is writing about is as follows
1 Trip fee @ $75.00
1 Bi-flow filter drier @ $60.00
2 3/8 Access stubs @ $8.00
7 R410A @ $84.00
This was just the last incident in a very large pile of invoices. On May 20,2013, after 9 long years of being treated as a cash cow by Allied. We replaced our heating system with a new one.

The work The Allied Mand E has done for me was pricey but excellent. You get what you pay for.
In November 2008 I had Allied replace my 40-year-old heating boiler. The crew was very professional and friendly and did the job correctly, and at what I consider to be a fair price.
In December 2008 I had Allied Mand E replace all under-cabinet plumbing and the fixtures associated with the four sinks in my house (built in 1968), one kitchen, two bathrooms, and one basement. This was the high priced part, but in the nearly four years since, I have not had a lick of problems with the work that they did. The single plumber that performed the work was both professional and a regular guy, who likes Led Zeppelin so there was music while he worked (I supplied).
In 2011 I had Allied service the boiler that they installed in 2008. That too was pricey, but I did not have any problems following the service. In the past I had my fuel oil supplier, Nittany Oil Company, do the boiler service twice for significantly less cost, and BOTH times there were problems nearly immediately afterward, for which Nittany had to send a different technician to fix for no charge. I will be requesting boiler service from Allied from now on. Again, you get what you pay for.

They got everything scheduled. There were there on time. There were two different people who were supposed to be doing services on two different days. The days were back to back, one of them were actually late. I got them through a builder and they were one of the choices in the area at that time and it was someone that most of the people went with so we went with that company.

I chose Allied Mechanical and Electrical, first, they are a reputable company. They spend quite time on the preventive maintenance and then explain to you what they did and how everything looks and what they tune up. When the heating season comes, they will call me a couple of months ahead, we set up an appointment and they always show up on time. They tell me what they did and discuss any problems might come up so that there will be no major problems. They're very efficient and very knowledgeable in their task.
