Salon Beyond Basics

I just moved to the area, so I was shopping around for hair salons, and Salon Beyond Basics had one of the better websites, include a complete price list, so I decided to make an appointment. The woman that I spoke with to make the appointment was very friendly and got me in very quickly. When I arrived, I was greeting by my hairstylist, but she didn't actually introduce herself to me until I actually asked her name later in the conversation. That's not a huge issue and didn't affect the quality of her work, but that is just my personal pet peeve. But the facility is beautiful, very nicely done without feeling stuffy, and it was very clean. My stylist did an excellent job reviving my very dry, very much in need of TLC hair. She did a great job with making it the length I wanted it (nothing worse then a stylist lopping off way more than you wanted them to!) and was very friendly. I just moved to the area, and she made me feel very welcomed and she was very easy to chat with. Because my hair is very dry and coarse, she suggested that I start using an oil. She showed me what she was using on my hair while she was styling it, explained why it would work, and generally gave me tips for my hair type. But what I loved is that she didn't pressure me to buy the exact type of oil she used in my hair, and didn't give me a sales pitch to buy product from the salon. In fact, she specifically told me that there are tons of brands of hair oil out there, so I should just go to the drug store where I could get a wide variety for a lower price and take time to check out options. And best of all, it was cheap! I didn't need a wash because I had just washed it that morning, and for the cut and style it was only $18.00. They are definitely my salon now. I'm going to try out their nail an waxing services as well. I couldn't get my nails done there the  same day without an appointment, and as I understood, their nail lady is only there certain days. But I'm going to be making an appointment soon to try out their other services. Would definitely recommend them to others!
