J. Scott Paving repaired a 5'x8' area of our driveway that was excavated for a chimney foundation repair and they also sealcoated the entire 150 foot driveway.  I found them based on online reviews.  Working with John Sr. and John Jr. was a great experience from start to finish!  We got a clear written quote at the time of their initial review and it was slightly lower than 2 other quotes from other contractors.  They prefer to be contacted via cell phone and either answer immediately or return the call the same day after leaving a message.  They were flexible on scheduling as we needed to delay the project a few times because of conflicts with other contractors who were still using the driveway.  The 3 team members who did the repair/seal took their time, addressed all our questions, offered advice and were kind and courteous - they did a great job addressing the details around a radon system fan and new fence posts.  After about a week and half, John Jr. called to see if we had any questions, ensured we were still satisfied with the work and offered suggestions for maintaining it going forward - to help ensure the sealcoating would last 3-5 years!  They are very knowledgeable and we have confidence that they will stand by their work.  We enjoyed working with this really nice team and highly recommend them!

John quickly responded to our request for an estimate to seal our driveway. He gave us a reasonable price, but suggested we wait another year before application as there was still enough coating from my application last year. I was blown away. How many companies would suggest waiting to take your money??? J. S Scott replaced our driveway about 4 years ago and did a terrific job. Excellent. Mr. Scott stopped by to give us an estimate almost immediately after receiving my request. Even though it was a very busy time of the year for him, he worked us into his schedule. He called a day prior to doing the work to confirm that it still worked for us. His crew arrived on the scheduled day and within a few hours, the old driveway was removed and the new driveway was completed. Everything was cleaned up and everyone was polite and professional. The new driveway looks great. I am very pleased with the results and how smooth the entire process was.

I’ll give an A for their work however it had taken a negative review initially to get a callback. After speaking with John via phone he rectified the situation and completed the work exponentially. Word of caution speak with John directly as the office staff not only dropped the ball once but twice when I was trying to schedule the service. With that said I’m happy with the job.

No puddles after repaving! Even with all the torrential rains we've had this summer. We love the Belgian block border and inset -- it doubled the cost of the job but we are thrilled with how the driveway looks.

George and his crew were very professional and never wasted any time. i have a very long and curving driveway on a hill and have badly needed to redo the drive for some time. George took the time to explain how the resurfacing would be done and the others i called only wanted to rip up the entire thing and that would have cost a fortune. being on a fixed income and a widow i wanted to get quality job for something i could actually afford. i would recommend them highly! it looks beautiful

They did an excellent job making repairs to the side edges of my driveway which were were cracking and breaking away. I also had some long cracks which were filled with a hot pour rubberized sealer. After this they sealed my driveway with a coal tar emulsion early in the day then came back in the late afternoon to apply a second coat which they felt was necessary since It was the 1st time we sealed it. They were very professional and left my yard neat and clean. I plan to use them every 20 to 3 years. It may seem like a lot of money but this was a fair price to pay considering the black top repair work and 2 coats of sealer.

We were very impressed by J Scott's professional handling of the repaving. John Scott came to the home shortly after my initial call and carefully assessed what needed to be done. He gave me a detailed estimate and answered a number of my questions. When we signed and returned the quote, an administrative staff member gave me an estimate of an approximate 1 month wait for the paving. Nearly 1 month to the day, the company came out early in the afternoon with a full crew and all the materials and completed the work in less than 3 hours. John left us with a company brochure as to how to best care for the paving going forward. John followed up with shortly after the project was finished to make sure we were happy and to answer any questions. We are very pleased with this company and would definitely consider them for future work.

John called the day before the repairs would be done and he did the work in a day as he said he would. The next day he came back to seal the driveway. The job was done professionally with top notch product. The sealant was professional grade unlike what I had done in prior year. He cleaned up after his crew and we got exactly what we had asked for all for a very fair price.

After contacting a few different contractors for a driveway expansion, J. Scott Paving came in with the best cost estimate. We worked with George Scott. He was very easy to contact and extremely helpful/reasonable with our changes as the project began. We ended up doing a bit more concrete work than initially estimated, but George made it clear that his #1 priority was that the we got exactly what we wanted. I would recommend J. Scott Paving!

I thought I hired J Scott in April of 2016 to seal my driveway. I signed and faxed in an estimate. In June I reached out because I had not heard anything and was told it should not be too much longer. I reached out again in August and was told the same thing. In late September I reached out again and was told my paperwork was misplaced and was asked to re-send. J Scott literally stopped by my house to get a copy of the paperwork this time, I was apologized to again, and I was told my job would be treated with the highest priority. I have not heard from them since. I would strongly encourage everyone to look elsewhere. Extremely unprofessional.

It was a pleasure working with Mr. Scott. He was readily available via cell phone, and he patiently answered all of our questions. Mr. Scott provided a detailed assessment of the driveway's needs, and his crew took care to address all of those needs when the work was done. Mr. Scott then inspected the work and provided us with an education about how to maintain the driveway. In all, I appreciate the job well done and definitely would hire Mr. Scott and his group again.

Beyond awful. The driveway now accumulates pools of water in several places because it was not properly graded - this will pose a problem with ice in the winter. In addition, they broke my gate and refused to fix it. They also broke my sump pump pipe which they did fix. The absolute best part was they threatened to sic a lawyer on me if I didn't pay them for the job which was completely under par. I would never recommend this company to anyone I had any regard for. Edited on December 14, 2016 - Since my original review, the owner has been communicating with me. John will refund me $750 for the job because of my dissatisfaction and the owner also gave me $100 towards repairing my damaged gate. We have left open the option of his company returning in the spring to repair the driveway. While I am still not happy with my driveway – I would like to acknowledge that John has made every effort to work with me. I have not decided yet if I will have them back to repair my driveway.

Excellent. The crew arrived in a timely manner and executed the work efficiently, they were also friendly and professional. Everything was completed in one day. The quality of the work appears to be outstanding, time will tell of course but everything turned out great. The price was lower than all of the other quotes we received and there were no surprises, everything was as quoted and a couple of things that popped up during the course of doing the work were absorbed into the original quote with no increase. John was great to work with, especially considering that this work involved three different households and lots of folks to keep in the loop. He also accommodated changes to the original plan and provided excellent advice for both installation and maintenance. Overall we are all extremely pleased with the work and would use him again without hesitation, even recommended him to another neighbor.
