I went to the company to ask about getting an estimate for a kitchen remodel. While there I looked at cabinet styles and chose one that I thought I would have if I chose this company. An appointment was made for John to come to my home to look at what I was proposing to do and to measure in order to give me an estimate. At this meeting we discussed the special features of the cabinets and drawers that I wanted. He brought an iPad with photos of previous jobs which I could look at while he was measuring. This gave me a couple of ideas that I had not thought of myself.
A few days later we met to discuss the plan and estimate. The plan was broken down into the action required, such as demolition and removal, new electrical and plumbing, installation of cabinets, etc. An overall price was given for the job. Included were specific allowances for the granite countertop, hardware for the cabinets, backsplash materials, and the 2 new appliances. The allowances were all mid range in price and if I chose items or materials that were less expensive the total job price would be reduced. However if I chose more expensive items than in the allowance I would pay more. This worked very well for me as I had recommended places to go to for the specific items (I did also check out other suppliers than those suggested, but received much better attention and service at the places suggested).
It took 5 weeks for the cabinets to be prepared. The actual work started on a Wednesday and was completed 11 days later. The workers were very careful to cover the floors and each day cleaned up completely with a vacuum, leaving no mess overnight or the weekend. There was a weekend when no work was done and 2 days mid week also while waiting for the countertops. John appeared twice each work day to inspect the work and talk with the workers and me.
The only thing not included was some painting of the new soffit and a new door. I had decided to either do it myself or get my regular handyman to do that.
