Growth Opportunity Center

The whole place is a joke. I currently have a therapist there, and she is the only person there that knows what she is doing. The psychiatrist I saw treated me with no respect. When I would communicate problems I was having with medication he put me on, I was told that it "wasn't from the medicine", or completely brushed off. My pronouns were not respected by him, either. He would also make distasteful jokes/comments regarding my gender identity. My medication was also never on time or he would not write me the right dosage, causing me to run out of pills before my next appointment. When I would try to contact him about this, he never picked up. It would go to voicemail every time and he would never get back to me. So, I had to resort to going to the hospital to have my prescriptions written multiple times. Also, upon going to a new doctor outside of GOC, i was informed he was giving me unhealthy doses of medication. I was also made to quit a strong anti-depressant cold turkey; He would not let me take a smaller dose, no prescription was written. When I decided it was enough, I was referred to another doctor at GOC; she was the only one who had enough room to squeeze me in. But then I was also refused because of my gender transition. Absolutely ridiculous. My therapist that works there is the only staff member who has helped me at all, so that is the one good thing I have to say about that place. I do not recommend going to Growth Opportunity Center. Complete joke.
