American Chimney Sweep arrived promptly on the day of the appointment.  Prior the appointment I was given a detailed list of items that would be checked and evaluated by the service technicians on the day of the appointment. 
I gave American Chimney Sweep a grade of F for the following reasons:
1.) The service technicians did not inspect our chimney on the day of the appointment and when I questioned him he said "since you do not have a masonry chimney, everything is normally fine"
2.) The extent of the work performed on the fireplace was to ignite the gas insert and then vacuum out the fireplace enclosure.
3.) I received no evidence of a digital inspection of the chimney or the flue after the inspection.
I hired American Chimney sweep as we had just moved to the neighborhood and I wanted to ensure safe operation of the fireplace.  Had I known that the extent of their work would be to vacuum the fireplace I would have thought differently about hiring this company.  As an aside less than 2 weeks after the appointment I received an email from American Chimney offering me a discounted rate of $129.95 for the same service that I paid $174.99 earlier in the month.  I attempted to seek consideration from the company, but never received a return phone call.
I would not hire American Chimney again.

I was very satisfied with the services.  They were prompt in responding when I contacted them about doing work on our chimney and were easy to schedule with.  Although we had some difficulties with scheduling the work due to weather, Matt Davis, kept in touch and updated me as to when they would be able to do the repairs.   They provided photos along with the estimated work and when it was done also provided photos of the completed work.  So far no leaks!

The guy arrived to clean our fireplace chimney, and I was advised he would also check out our heater chimney as well, plus he would send us before and after shots and a report if work needed to be done.  He worked on our fireplace, then asked to use the restroom, which I don't have a problem with, but he soaked my handtowel which I thought was gross and didn't even tell me.  He then finished up, and I asked about our other chimney.  He said he would take care of it outside.  I don't really know what he did to be honest.  After a week, I emailed the company seeking the pictures to actually see what they did.  I received no response.  I tried on numerous occasions to contact the company via email for the pictures, and never received a single response.  I now question what work, if any, they really did.  I will not hire this company again.

Very courteous, responsive and professional outfit.  They were able to schedule my appointment within a few days of my call.  They did a thorough job and even Windex-ed the woodstove glass before leaving.
