I gave American Chimney Sweep a grade of F for the following reasons:
1.) The service technicians did not inspect our chimney on the day of the appointment and when I questioned him he said "since you do not have a masonry chimney, everything is normally fine"
2.) The extent of the work performed on the fireplace was to ignite the gas insert and then vacuum out the fireplace enclosure.
3.) I received no evidence of a digital inspection of the chimney or the flue after the inspection.
I hired American Chimney sweep as we had just moved to the neighborhood and I wanted to ensure safe operation of the fireplace. Had I known that the extent of their work would be to vacuum the fireplace I would have thought differently about hiring this company. As an aside less than 2 weeks after the appointment I received an email from American Chimney offering me a discounted rate of $129.95 for the same service that I paid $174.99 earlier in the month. I attempted to seek consideration from the company, but never received a return phone call.
I would not hire American Chimney again.
