He was sent because we have a service policy with American Water & was told for $50 he would unclog the blocked bathtub drain. He was very abrupt with us. He BROKE the pipe with his snake. He never unclogged the pipe. He then wanted over $1,200 to fix what he broke. He said he could do a PARTIAL fix for over $700 and he said I would have to wait until Tuesday for him to start at the earliest. He said he would probably open up the wall. He left the house with a dripping pipe. We hired another plumber, he fixed the damage done by DiTommasso, costing $800, that day. DiTommasso was NEVER supposed to ask us for anything as this should have been handled by American Water. So I paid DiTommasso or American Water $50 to have DiTommasso to just break the pipe and never clearing the clog. This was a nightmare. He said he was a plumber for 20 years too.

A+. I've had the pleasure of meeting Joe himself through the quoting process, and I've met several of his plumbers who are all terrific/knowledgeable guys who are respectful of your home.

I noticed water under my hot water tank one evening.  I called my homeowner's warranty service to inquire as to whether my hot water tank was covered by them.  They indicated it was and they would send a plumber to take a look and if it needed replaced they would replace it.  A plumber from DiTommaso Plumbing was sent to my home.  I had to take a day off work because the plumber would come between 10:00 and 1:00.  He showed up at 2:30. (Which had I known, I wouldn't have had to take a day off.)  When he came in to assess the problem, he had no flashlight for an area that was dark to begin with.  He made a judgement without examining any of the tank or moving anything from out around the tank.  He replaced a pressure relief valve which he claimed was the problem.  I paid him for his services and he left.
I did not go around the tank again for a couple of days.  When I did, I found the same problem as before.  I had a friend look at the tank and he found a leak in the bottom of the tank. I immediately called the warranty company again.  I had it arranged that the plumber call me before he was to arrive so it would give me time to get home from work.
When he arrived, again he came in without a flashlight and I showed him where I thought the water was leaking.  He assessed it again, and said I needed a new tank which he did not have with him.  I was to then make another appointment so he could come another time to put the tank in.  This would again inconvenience me.
It was 5 days later the appointment was made because the plumber was booked until then.  The appointment range for this visit was between 2:00-5:00.  I ask that I be called before his arrival so I could leave work and be there before the plumber.  At 2:30 while I was on my way home the plumber called and asked where I was.  I asked him the same thing.  He was waiting for me in my driveway.  I told him about being called before his arrival but he said he was never told and that he would only wait 20 minute before he would leave if I hadn't arrived yet.  I did not want to argue with him while I tried to get home in time.  When I arrived he was still waiting but he was very "short" with me about the whole situation.  Not much was said from the time he started to the time he finished.
I had my friend here by then to see that things were going as they should.  By the time he finished, he had become a little more approachable.
All in all, the experience was not a very good one.  I am writing this as he was leaving the driveway.

Joe did an excellent job. I was very pleased with the repair and he answered all of my questions. Would definitely use his company in the future for any plumbing needs.

Rob arrived on time for both appointments.  He was very professional and was able to unclog both drains (they were pretty tough).  Throughout the experience, he was very concerned with getting the job done properly.  He cleaned up after the job and made sure I was pleased.  The price was very reasonable and both my appointments were done on a Saturday to accomodate my schedule.  Very pleased with the level of service and professionalism.

Very well. Plumber did the job very well and no more leak. Because of the cold weather and poor directions, plumber was 1/2 hour later that estimated time when appointment was made.

If you have an emergency and call him, he will do everything he can to get to you as quickly as he can. He answers his phone. He is prompt, very reliable and responsible. He will give you a couple of options, which impresses me. It sounds like he is very concerned with price. it might because he knows that we both are retired.

While this gentleman was courteous and price is about as good as you can expect for a plumber to make a visit to your house, the problem was made worse by his attempt to fix it. This was a dripping shower fixture which he claims to have replaced the seats and springs, but when he was done it was dripping worse. I would have been glad to replace the whole fixture which in his defense was not high quality, but this was not recommended. I understand that sometimes you need to go at a job more than once as there may be more issues than you initially appreciated. Since he seemed like a nice guy, I decided to give him another shot. I called him back and told him that the shower was now dripping worse and that this was no emergency, but would like to get it fixed sometime in the next month or so. I spoke with his partner but never got a call back. Since I never heard back from him, I hired another plumber who had difficulty seeing where parts were replaced and noticed that he had placed some towels under the plumbing, no doubt anticipating problems. I have never seen a plumber do this. The new plumber replaced the springs and caps and we have not had any problems since.

Owning a house that I am renovating, I have dealt with a few companies in just about every trade. DiTomasso Plumbing has earned the right, for me to refer them to anyone asking if I know a good plumber.

This company was referred to me by American Home Shield (a company to avoid by the way) which is a home warranty company we have a policy with. The company was quick to respond and made an appointment quickly and arrived on time. The plumber was personable. However, the repair was poor. Instead of replacing a leaking valve in our wall he simply re-threaded it. Within a day it was leaking again. Needless to say we contacted our normal plumber who fixed it correctly. Perhaps the company is more conscientious on non-warranty calls but this repair was totally inappropriate. He was in and out in a few minutes. I would not use this company again. Luckily we were suspicious about the wisdom of his patch job, put a water sensor in the wall, and I stayed close to the house. Sure enough, the leak appeared. If we'd not kept track of it there would have been major water damage in our home.

Everything went well. I called, Joe responded within an hour. Joe came out the following morning and rectified the issue promptly. I have used Joe before and will continue to do so in the future.

He did a good job eliminating the drip on the main water line & unclogging the sink. The issue with the water heater turned out to be something that could not be well resolved under the warranty (not the plumber's fault). However, the faucet still dripped after the plumber left (he changed the cartridge, but that must not have been the whole problem). He tried snaking the exterior drain without success. It's very possible that there was a crack or serious root problem with the pipe & that it couldn't have been resolved. However, he said he was also going to try snaking from the opposite direction (from where the pipe emptied into a gully near the back of the yard) but then left without doing so. Prior to the plumber's arrival, I laid out a drop cloth across the master bedroom carpet so it wouldn't get dirty. However, the plumber actually walked out of his way in a wide arc around the drop cloth with his muddy boots. It cleaned up, but was still an annoyance & is the reason for my "B" grade on professionalism.

He came within a couple of hours and assessed the situation. He explained exactly what the problem was when it was more complicated than I thought. He explained my two options, the cheaper/easy way that would last about seven years. Or the more expensive way that would last a lot longer. I thought the prices were both reasonable so I took the more expensive option. He had to come back the next day and completely finished the job. He's totally professional and honest and keeps things clean. He was 100% competent and knew exactly what he was doing. The service was excellent, the entire ordeal was fixed within 1.5 days. I've only used him for that one job but I do consider him my plumber now.

I have big trees outside of my home and the leaves always back up the pipes to the sewer. I use him once a year for this and he is always helpful with tips about how to keep the pipes clean and prevent further problems. He is always nice to deal with, he is always on time and does a fantastic job. It has been very pleasant to work with him and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Very well. Service person was a bit late., but called to explain that he would be late and why (a problem with an earlier job). Did good, careful, clean work. Cleaned up well.
