It was a job that sounded easy, but turned out everything that could go wrong could. Simply described, it was a clogged bathroom sink where the pipes were clogged and also rusted. He tried everything from from using his electronic snake many times to cutting the basement pipes to make a short new clean route, but we had no luck and ending up having to cut an entirely new drain through the floor. He ended up being at my house most of the day and was still very professional even after everything going wrong. He tried everything he could to make sure the job did not cost too much, but it really was the worst case. I was there to verify everything and am sure he did the best job possible. A really good guy that I would hire again. I'd say it was pretty expensive for just a clogged drain job (that turned out everything that could be wrong was), and after watching him I could probably do it myself for cheaper but it would have taking like twenty times longer and would not have been as nice as a job as he did. I'm not going to say how much it cost, but he earned it.

I came home to no water, checked power, pressure switch. Problem was in the well. I called four plumbers and left messages as it was 9:00 pm. They were the only one that returned my call that evening and set up an appointment or the next morning. They did ask if I needed them to come that evening, but I didn't think it was necessary. They called at 8:15 to let me know they were coming and showed up at 8:30 as stated. I told them what I found and they proceeded with their trouble shooting and gave me an estimate on pulling and replacing the pump. They then pulled and were replacing the pump while one of them was checking the wire. Since the previous plumb had not installed torque arresters, the wire was damaged periodically deeply into the copper in some places. They found pump wire long enough and torque arresters. Adjusted the estimate, asked how I wanted to proceed, got the other materials, rewired, and reinstalled the pump with torque arresters. Reconnected the wiring. They changed the pressure switch because of some corrosion on the old one, and still fit into the estimate. All was done and cleaned up by 2:00 PM.

Mike Barth does great work. He was professional, cleaned up and was knowledgable of the work. My only complaint was that I specifically asked for pipes to be routed a certain way to keep them above head level in the basement and he ignored me. For the area he was slightly pricey as well, but his work made up for that. On a separate occasion he installed some gas fireplaces and did a great job. He couldn't repair them when they broke, but I did not buy them from him and it was a pretty complex system with electronics.
