AMY'S ANIMAL FRIENDS

"I have received a letter from your organization regarding an unsatisfied new customer I have had recently, whom I did a service of grooming her cat. On my behalf here at my shop, Amy’s Animal Friends, I only do what my clients tell me to do. I have a secretary who had been with me for 8 years now who helps me and also takes appointments. When she made her appointment with us, my secretary/assistant wrote in our appointment book that she wanted her cat shaved. We usually don’t write what a client wants done until they get here, but in this case she told us ahead of time. So with that wrote in the appointment book, when the cat arrived I specifically asked person dropping of cat if my appointment instructions were correct and the young lady said yes, I then proceeded to double check and repeat myself OK so we will shave your cat. When they returned for the cat it was a different color because the undercoat was a lighter gray. The color before groom was black. They young lady the said, “Oh we have to send mom a picture”. So they did. About 15 minutes or so of that the mother called me and was very rude in saying, “I didn’t want my cat shaved”! I was very nice and said well I’m sorry, but I ONLY do what the owner wants me to do and told her what I had asked the young lady dropping off. She then stated that her daughter doesn’t know and probably thought that’s what she wanted. Well I told her that there must be a communication problem because we wouldn’t write or do anything a customer doesn’t want. She then said she was highly recommended to come to me but now would never refer anyone of her friends to me. I said that was fine. I have been grooming for 20 years and always do what I’m told. So that is what happened. I did what my customer wanted. She might not like the results but it is what it is. I’m very professional and very liked in this town. If I have one of my regular customers unhappy tell me and we do something different next time, that doesn’t make it my fault. I always do what they want Not what I want. That’s just not good business, and if I were anything like that I wouldn’t have the very successful business I have today. Thank you for your time.
