Heating and Air Conditioning Service
The overall experience was plagued with problems, some of which were never resolved. It was so difficult to deal with the company, I gave up trying to get them to keep coming out to fix problems. Major objections I had with the service included:
- Condenser came with bent cooling fins. Company refused to replace the unit and when they sent someone out to straighten the fins, the tech had the wrong tool said he was going to come back and never did. I was told that bent fins don't affect the unit, but who cares? I paid for a new unit, I expected a defect free unit.
- Condenser makes noise which is not normal. No fix was put in place to date.
- None of the duct work was sealed with tape. Had to call a tech back to seal the duct work
- line to the thermostat was taped to a stud instead of properly fastened
- After the filter unit was installed, duct work was installed around it in such a way that the filter couldn't be removed. Had to call and get them to rework the duct work
- when the tech replace the duct work for the filter fix, the condensate pump was left unplugged which led to water in the basement
- scrap debris was left in the front yard.
Very disappointing service. I would not use them again or recommend them.

Service call in 2006 - problem with system was misdiagnosed (serviceman never even examined the unit and merely reset the circuit breaker.) I had to call another company to repair the problem. Geiger refused to reimburse the service call fee and since then refused to answer any phone calls emails or letters. I had to send them a letter demanding that they remove my name from their mailing list as they continued to send me letters and brochures soliciting business. I

I have been using them for many years. They try to fix things over the phone by instructing me on how to do it. Their price is very competitive. I never had to call them back once the job is finished, as their quality of work is good.

Overall, it has gone very poorly. Two installers installed the system incorrectly and it didn't work right from the beginning. They had to send out another guy the following week. Whatever he tried didn't work and they sent out yet another guy about a week later. Each subsequent technician said the previous guy didn't do something right. Have had numerous problems with the system every since. And their "customer service" is terrible. They don't show up when they say they will, and they don't call you to tell you they're not showing up. Other examples: coming out and telling us that the system lacks freon. They add freon and charge us for it. Soon after the system doesn't work again and another technician comes out and says the previous technician put in TOO MUCH freon. He has to let some out. Very poor experiences with this company. Incorrect installation, bad follow-ups, poor customer service, rude technicians. Owner won't respond. He has our money.

He finally figured out what the problem was and asked if he could come back on July 4th. I told him that was not necessary. They sent the main guy the next time and he told me they needed to order a part but I could run it. He came back a few days later and fixed the problem without the part. It has been running fine since he did that.
