When the new washer was installed and I did my first load of laundry, it would not work either. This washer has a see through top lid and I could see that only a trickle of water was going into the washer with the cold wash on. The washer had a computer system which was flashing the code for insufficient water. The new washer was not filling with water.
I had a plumber come in to see why the washer was not filling with water. He found that the screw head had fallen off and was blocking the cold water from going through the water pipe. As soon as he removed the screw head, the cold water poured out and filled the washer immediately.
When the new washer had the exact same problem as my old washer, I realized that there was no transmission problem, and that my old washer was really not broke at all.
I paid $800.00 for the new washer that I did not need at all, and I lost the value of my old washer which needed no repair at all. The installer had taken it away.
My plumber told me to call Miles Maytag and report this problem to them.
I called Miles and spoke with the service manager, Phil. I explained the problem to him. He said that he stands behind his tech and did not care what my plumber told me. He said that if the tech said it was a transmission problem, it was a transmission problem. I said how could that be when the new washer had the exact same problem as the old one. He then HUNG-UP on me.
I have lost a lot of money due to Miles Maytag. I paid $800 for a washer that I never needed, and lost the value of my old washer, which I estimated to be between $300-400.
Once the oven and microwave arrived, Miles coordinated with a second company to make the necessary modifications to the cabinet and electrical work and help with the installation. Everyone was top notch and very professional. The modifications went as planned and the unit was installed perfectly in a short amount of time. The wife is very happy with her new wall unit which makes the rest of us in the house very happy.
