My experience with Tom Mitros of RE/MAX: (1) Two different times buyers with an agent showed up at my home without prior notice from Tom ? one agent said he couldn?t get in contact with him after trying for two days (office and cell phone)?the other did contact the office, and after emailing Tom, his reply was that his office assistant ?dropped the ball.? (2) The realtor who came the afternoon of March 9th pointed out to me that the multi-listing he got my listing from stated my home was a ?double-wide brick.? (It?s not a double-wide, it?s a Brick Ranch?he showed me the sheet he got it from.) I contacted Tom about this, and he stated ?I don?t know what Multi-list he is looking at? I just checked and it says ?Detached Brick ranch.? (3) After a showing on March 2nd, there were 2 holes put into my bathroom ceiling, looking like someone pushed through it with their fingers. There had been water leakage in that part of the ceiling, which was clearly visible, and anyone with common sense would realize that the ceiling was not ?sound.? To my amazement, no one contact me about this, to say anything at all. I never expected someone to pay for repairs, since it wasn?t in good shape, but there was no damage like this previously, and so after 3 days I sent Tom an email about it (March 5)?reply was that he wasn?t even aware of it, and would contact the agent about this (turns out the agent was from his own office). After almost a month, I emailed him again and he started his reply with ?Sorry for not responding immediately?.? Then went on to say what happened, and it wasn?t as I stated. I sent him pictures, and he then talked to his agent (Kimberly McCleary) and they both covered up the incident like it was nothing (only one paint chip had fallen from the ground). At one point he stated in his email ?it looked as though the ceiling were ready to fall down.? (If that was true, why would ANYONE even touch it?) Again, I never expected payment for repairs, just acknowledgement and an apology. And that is something that Tom and his agent Kimberly never provided to me, because in my opinion they both lack the maturity and sense of responsibility that adults should display in their job. (4) Finally, nearing the end of the one-year contract, Tom had come by to look at the holes in my bathroom ceiling, and on his way out he took the lock-box on the door, which had my key in it. Nothing was mentioned about this, until I emailed him about my key, and he stated ?The key is in my office and available to any agent that wants to schedule a showing. The listing expires in a few days and I will promptly return the key.? The following week the contact expired, but I had not heard from him?the lock-box was previously attached to a door connected to my garage, which is part of the house. I don?t normally use that door, as I drive the car into the garage when I come home. It suddenly occurred to me the type of person Tom was, so I went over and opened the door?between the door and the screen was an envelope containing my key. Again, no phone call or email to tell me this, which means anyone could have come by my home and opened the screen door, and found the house key and gotten into my home.
