KENNEL

We boarded our dog at the same kennel for seven years and then moved to the Pittsburgh area so we were wondering how our dog would adapt to a new kennel.  We have now boarded her twice at the kennel. Our worries about whether she would find the transition difficult were unfounded because the second time she went, she was so happy to be back that she jumped up on the desk to be petted by the attendant.  All of the staff have been very responsive and professional, from calling back to my first inquiry to detailing how our dog did during her visits.  The large play area is wonderful for big dogs (ours is 90+ lbs.).  We will definitely use the kennel in the future. 

Highly recommend. I rely on The Kennel to care for my dog while I travel every month. I have used The Kennel at least 10 times the last ten months from 2 to 10 days at a time. What I like most is they do not mix the dogs. My Akita is friendly to most, but when he doesn't, he is aggressive. I chose The Kennel specifically for this reason.... But so much more. They have lovely grounds, with a pond and lots of trees. The caregivers are amazing. I know this because I ran into one of the caregivers at Pep Boys while my dog and I waited for a flat tire to be fixed, and he went crazy to see her; he completely ignored me and lathered his love on her. It reinforced my view that he was loved and well cared for. They gave him meds one visit when he had a stomach virus. They provide grooming but I haven't used that service. They have limited hours but they work for me.

I am quite pleased and have already scheduled his next visit when I have to travel.

I would definitely use this kennel again.

My daughter recently got a dog so when we go out of town, we board our animals rather than leave them with her. I haven't had a need to board them for awhile but if we did, I would go back to them. They keep their place extremely clean, their staff is very friendly. You do have to call, because they are busy, especially for a holiday weekend or something. They are the cleanest place I have ever seen. They have ceramic cages. They take the dogs out for a walk. They let the dogs come up to the reception area with them. They don't just put them in a cage and feed and water them, they take very good care of them. They all have indoor outdoor so when your pet goes into their run, they have a nice safe indoor place and then a door that lets them out into an outdoor run. They keep it very clean. You never go in there and have it smell. They will feed your dog or you can bring in your own food, because a lot of dogs have to be on special diets for their health. They do allow you to bring in your own food, which is nice. They are priced according to the size of the pet. They do board cats as well. They have a separate area for the cats. They are just wonderful, wonderful people. They ask you to leave a contact number so that if there is a problem or an emergency they want not only your numbers but someone local. They ask for a 3rd party contact for someone that could come in if we couldn't physically get there ourselves.
