My brother, sister-in-law and I were trying to find / purchase a new home for us and my 2 young sons. when we found one that suited us my brother contacted howard hanna and they set us up with an agent named Mary Ellen... the first time we tried to meet her she had a completely different listing, but we tried to find the one we wanted and were unable too. the second time we were able to find the property she was unprepared (did not know combinations for the 2 lock boxes) but called her office and we got in... we fell in love with the property and made an offer. the next day they went into theoffice and signed a contract. and got approval from the bank, that same day the same agent showed the property to another client and took their offer, HOWEVER she never gave the property owners our offer and info, instead she gave them the offer of the other couple. even though we were "there first" I think It was a horrible thing to do because she knew how much we wanted it. I truly think she gave it to the " Higher Bidder" also we heard from another agent that she said " we couldn't afford it because we are on welfare"... when my brother and I both throw garbage for a living.
