Roofing
I didn't like anything about them. They were unprofessional. They started the work three weeks before and didn't come back. The neighbor called the police because one of the workers was looking in the woman's bedroom window. They didn't use a tarp in the attic, so all the roofing fell in the attic. When I opened the attic door, the roofing fell out. It was a nightmare. The roof has to be redone because the job was so horrible. It took three months just to get it straightened out. I had to threaten him with a lawsuit just to get him to answer me.

Don't Hire Larry Parry from Straight Line Roofing. He does terrible work and does not even finish the work he starts. I filed a lawsuit against him and his company and won a Judgement Against him for over $5,000. I also reported him to our local BBB and Attorney Generals office. Beware of Him and his company.

Roofing
After having called for an estimate, Larry, the owner, came out to the house to look at the roof. He gave me a great estimate, which took all of about 15 minutes, but he spent 2 hours standing in my dining room talking about himself (nothing to do with roofing!), his family, and all of his "belongings". He even showed me pictures of his Lamborghini and told me how much it cost him. However, since he was the lowest estimate I received, I decided to go with him. He did show me his license and insurance papers, and I drove by to see a roof that he had just completed, which was very nice. When I called him, which was August of 2009, to hire him, he told me he was booked until October, but I was now on the list. He had even given me a deadline in which I could call him and request his services at the quoted price he had given me. He also states that he works "year around" in his ad, so I figured he was just busy and would get to my roof in October. Well, every time I called to ask him for an update on the timeframe for my roof, he always made up an excuse, and there were always "2 people ahead of [me]". Needless to say, October came and went, and so did Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, and most of March before I heard from him again. When he called in March, he said, "I didn't forget about you...I'll be there the first week of April." And, of course, there were still 2 people ahead of me. He even stated that, even though he works all year, my roof is not one he would do in the winter months. This was the first time I'd heard this...he'd always told me he could do it any time. This, to me, was false advertising. The beginning of April came and went and when I called him the second week of April to find out what was going on, he said he'd be here the first of May. The first of May came and went, and he didn't show up or call. I then called him 3 times and left messages, none of which were returned. Eventually I gave up and hired another roofer. His ad specifically states that his company is "reliable" and "timely", neither of which I found to be true. It also claims that the company is the "largest roofing company in NEPA", which I find hard to believe when he runs a business like he does. I could never understand how there were still 2 people ahead of me when I'd been on the "list" for 9 months! He seemed to have every excuse in the book as to why he wasn't completing my roof, from the people who were supposedly ahead of me, to vacation, to the weather delaying him for weeks at a time. The only reason I stuck with him for almost a year was because my roof wasn't leaking, and his estimate was good. However, he is very unprofessional and I'd definitely think twice about hiring him to do a job, because it may NEVER get done!
