We used Jeff Wilson and his team for their slate roofing expertise.  As prior reviewers mentioned, we have had people fix our roof in the past (and repair broken slate) only to find the slate nailed in or hung improperly.  Jeff Wilson's team used galvanized hooks to clean up our slate roof and re-hang broken slate.  They also resealed the valley of the roof (which is where we get a great deal of ice/water during the winter).  Finally, they checked all flashings on our two chimneys, added sealant to one and cleaned up the other.  While we did not have any leaks in our roof, it certainly was looking ragged and needed to be "cleaned up."  Jeff's team arrived on time with about 5 guys.  They did a very good job, and I would use them again.  Note:  It is not always easy to get ahold of Jeff as he is a very busy guy; however, if you have patience, he will call you back.  It may be two days later, but he always called back with an apology for the delay.  We went with Jeff as his price came in right down the middle (not the highest and not the lowest), and we felt like he certainly knew what he was talking about as his comments on the roof (when we first obtained a quote) were in line with other quotes we had received.  We would definitely use Jeff and his company again for any future clean up or repairs.  Very professional team.

Called to report damage and followed up with photos to relay the extent of the repair. Wilson responded quickly and had the roof fixed within a week of the damage at a good price and the insurance company settled within three weeks. It is a very professional operation that does quality work. We appreciate Jeff Wilson's guidance in this matter.

The whole job was handled professionally and efficiently. We got the estimate in late fall, but Jeff was unable to start right way in part because of his schedule and in part because of having to order the special, 200 year slates. He did an emergency repair on our roof to make sure there were no leaks free of charge. He kept us appraised of the progress in getting the slates and his work schedule and showed up promptly when promised The workmen were skilled and hard working. And, as mentioned above, the final job is wonderful.

Mr Wilson responded promptly to our request for an estimate and was also timely in coming to give the estimate.  However, he was very busy & could not fit us into his schedule immediately. Thankfully our leak was only a problem in heavy...wind driven rain, so was not an emergency.  It has only been a bit over a month since the work was completd.  We have had some rain with wind since the repair & no problems with leaks. My husband, who usually does his own repairs, went on the roof to check out the work.  He feels they did a lot of hard work for the price & a very good job.  We had 3 other estimates which would have required more money, but, they also wanted to do more than we felt was necessary.  We are very pleased with the service and would definatley recommend him to family & friends.

They do a good job.  They don't use nails, they hang the slate the correct way. 

First off, I should say that we got 3 quotes. The 3rd guy who quoted us, asked who had done the other quotes. When we said Jeff Wilson, he asked "well, what did he say" and told us we should go with Jeff because he is the best. I don't know much about slate roofs, but Jeff was recommended by several people. He was happy to talk with me on the phone whenever I had questions. One of the workers explained to me how the hooks with slate work and answered any questions I had. Overall, this is the type of contractor you want doing work on your house.
