The owner of the company, Greg, sent one of his plumbers, George, to fix a leak on a pipe that George had installed when George and a helper installed a water conditioner and softener on June 9, 2015. I believe the leak only became noticeable a few months after the installation because George wrapped a lot of tape around the joint and the foam insulation concealed the leak until I finally saw drops of water on the floor. When I contacted Affordable Contracting, George was dispatched to fix the leak and install a replacement bib in the garage. George turned the water off to the entire house and took a total of fifteen minutes to replace the bib in the garage, and the balance of the time draining the water and sweating the pipe to stop the leak. I was charged for 90 minutes of work, at least an hour of which was to repair "George's" leak. To make matters worse, I called Greg to inform him that another section of George's initial installation was leaking on the same run of pipe.
Greg wanted to send George back for another try, which I found unacceptable. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Greg offered to stop in and fix the leak himself that evening, but we had company visiting and I told him we could arrange for another time frame.
That was the last time I heard from Greg. He accused me of telling "fibs" in a survey to an equipment supplier. Ugh! If his employee did the job right the first, or even second time, he would get decent reviews.
I apologize to any consumer who may have utilized this company based on my initial review of 12/27/13. They do have one worker, Rick, who did a good job cleaning my boiler. The rest of this operation is very disappointing and does not take responsibility for poor workmanship.
When I discovered that the control board on the Generac 17kw generator was broken, I contacted an electric service/plumbing provider I had previously used and was told it would cost $681.00 to replace. I thought that was rather expensive and searched for a better price. Affordable Comfort Contracting (ACC) told me that they would do the job for $375 plus $95.00 an hour for labor. I asked that ACC also replace the battery and perform normal preventive maintenance and oil change.
The service person, Rick, arrived at the agreed upon date and got the entire job done in one hour. The charge was $686.00.
In comparing the estimate of $681.00 from my original provider for only the control board and the $686.00 price for the control board, battery and oil change/preventive maintenance from ACC, I think I got a very good deal. The battery costs $125.00, oil change and preventive maintenance is a $95.00 charge and that leaves the cost for the control board replacement at about $466.00.
The name of the company is Affordable Comfort Contracting, and I will call them next time I need electrical or plumbing service.
