He took what was supposed to be 50% down and told me a week and a half later it was finished. He said that he had fixed the flat roof. I went up, there were large indentations near the chimney on both sides averaging about 36in. So the boards were not all replaced like he had told me. I showed him the areas of the ceilings that were showing sunlight through to the inside of the building. He said he didn't know why there was light shining through. I showed him on the flat roof where there were dips and that I could tell he hadn't glued the rubber. All the rubber was able to be pulled away up to the edges of the roof. There was no trim work, no flashing up to the chimney. There was no caulking of any kind around edges. All of the debris was still scattered arcoss a porch roof and across the yard. Now he is angry that I have not paid the remainder. I have had another roofer come and tell him what needed to be done. I have also been advised not to pay him another dime until I have had two other estimates done on the roof to make sure that the roof has been completed correctly. If I am told by the other estimaters that the job has to be redone in any amount, that will change how much, if any, he gets paid. If he has corrected the job and done it properly, then I will pay. Now he is calling me and yelling at me and hanging up on me. I have no desire to rip him off, as he is accusing me of doing. I will pay once the job is done correctly.
