It was a great experience from the time Ted the owner walked in our door to give us an estimate. He made us feel special and as if we were his only client. The experience was repeated again and again as we went through the process of picking the hardwood and every detail of a major renovation. Chrissy his wife and co-owner went out of her way as she worked with us on all the details, always there helping me with so many of my questions. I felt my project was huge, my tile floor had to be remove and wood laid on my whole first floor, the men that did the work were great, did a professional job, had great attitudes, left the place clean and willing to help make our job perfect. Simply it was a great experience!

There wasn't enough space to add all of my review so I selected a few key pieces and compressed them: I texted Chrissy the day before we were to arrive home from vacation to make sure everything was ready for our arrival. It was then that she told me the project was not finished and she didn’t want to tell me because she didn’t want to ruin our vacation.Chrissy assured me that our floors looked gorgeous and that we would love them. We were now prepared for the sight of an incomplete, yet gorgeous floor. When we arrived home, we had a sofa in our kitchen. Our front stair case, which Ted continually referred to as “custom”, was in a state of disrepair with a quarter-sized hole in our wall near the first step. The first step was not rounded properly and looked as though someone pressed too hard when shaping the round edge. The first riser was not covered (as expected) yet was a splintered, ripped up mess. The doorway between our main dining room and the kitchen was also quite damaged. Ted let me know that the original trim wrapped around the door jam and he “didn’t like that” so he removed it.This left the wood of the door jam, and the edges around it, torn up.They attempted to spackle the damage, but it looked rushed. Ted let me know that they “are not painters” as I walked him and Chrissy through the damage to our house.I was also informed that neither one of them came to see the finished product. Our floors had so many gaps you could see the subfloor. There were nails pointing through to the inside cabinetry where they added bead-boarding. For the repairs, Chrissy told me that they were having the cartons of wood shipped “climate-controlled” and could go directly into our floors upon arrival. (Later, I watched from my office window as Ted drove up with the cartons in the back of his truck.) Ultimately, because of so many flooring issues, I let Ted know that I wanted to file a claim with the manufacturer. He strongly advised against it as it can take a “very, very long time to resolve. IF it gets resolved.” I still requested that we start the process. He told me that he would file the paper work but that I needed to be patient because of how long it could take to even hear from the manufacturer. He told me that it could take months. So, I waited. After a month went by with no word, I visited the manufacturer’s website where I read that it is their goal to resolve all claims within 30 days. I called them directly and was told that there was no claim on file. With that, I took matters in my own hands, and contacted an inspector that routinely visits homes to review work performed and can determine if the issue is the product or the installation or both.Through this expert review, I learned it was not a product issue, but a workmanship issue.Ted read the report and agreed to come out and look at the kitchen and other areas that needed to be addressed. I showed him the gap in our custom stair case between the riser and first landing. I showed him the repair job he did previously on another gap between a riser and a landing which he admitted did not look good. And, that he must have been “kidding himself” when he thought it was acceptable. He ordered new cartons, had them delivered in advance, and allowed them to acclimate to our home. We agreed on a date and time for his crew to come out and completely re-floor the kitchen (for the third time) and address areas that were still outstanding. This is now February. The job started in August. His crew arrived and began to work. Ted was here initially, but once he left, he never returned to inspect the final results. My wife indicated that a new gentleman was performing the installation, rather than Rob (who performed our first kitchen repair). His work looked amazing. Ted did not address the first gap in the staircase, as he had originally committed. As it stands today, there are still splinters on boards they chose to not replace. Their solution was just to sand and cover with putty or stain. The front staircase is still incomplete and damaged, and the back staircase is still carpeted. During this process, I learned that another customer of Magestic had issues with them. As Ted was leaving one of his visits, he shared again that he’s never had this issue and never had a claim. I had finally grown tired of hearing this repeated sales pitch and let him know that though he didn’t have claims, he did have unhappy customers. He seemed surprised and said that most complaints are due to customers causing their own problems. We didn't cause our problems, no matter how much Ted wanted to blame us. This was an incredibly frustrating six-month long relationship, during which, the once-friendly Chrissy disappeared entirely. People need to be aware of what can happen if they choose to do business with Magestic. As a note, this story isn’t complete. I just ran out of space.

They did a great job. Very responsive from the initial call to look at the job and provide a quote through finishing the job at the end. Cleaned up after the job too. From a Quality perspective, I totally recommend them. My only negative is they were high priced compared to other estimates, but none of the other guys returned calls after providing the estimate.

Everything happened as explained by the company...the hardwood flooring arrived few days before the installation date to become acclimated to my home. The installers arrived at the time stated, removed the old carpet screwed down the subfloor to ensure a solid squeak free floor and installed the hard wood floor with trim in approximately 6 hours. I have had no issues with installation and the installers were friendly and completely professional.

I'm writing this review a year after having the work completed, but always felt bad that I didn't write one for these guys! In the summer of 2015 I had severe water damage to my home resulting in needing to completely gut and rebuild the lower level of my townhome. I walked in to Majestic Flooring one afternoon and Chrissy was fantastic in helping me to select the right flooring for my home. I always have a hard time with these decisions and what she helped me to pick is gorgeous and goes perfectly with my carpet and furniture, I get so many complements on the floor! Ted came a few days later to do measurements and give me a quote. I was pleasantly surprised at the price compared to two other places that I had checked for the same floor. Although they were booked for about a month, after seeing my situation he called me within a few days as they had a cancellation and got me in within the week. Ted and his installation crew were prompt, professional, friendly, and did a fantastic job with great attention to detail. When I had a minor issue with one area of the floor, they took my concerns seriously and were out quickly to fix it. Dealing with Majestic Flooring was a bright spot in a very overwhelming situation, and I would definitely recommend them!

Ted Sobol was very accommodating with time schedule and was able to do the job while my family was on vacation with about 1 month notice.  His price was competitive.  He explained the process of refinishing and all that would be included in the cost very thoroughly.   Due to some problems with moving a piano, he agreed to actually do the work "around" the piano.  He made it clear that this was not optimal.  However, the job was absolutely beautiful.  Work was very neat.  I could not be happier with his work.  I would recommend Majestic without reservation!

We remodeled our kitchen five years ago and changed out the center
island.  When the house was built, the floors were laid after the
island, so that there were gaps when we changed the footprint of the
center island.  Replacement boards were stuck in place at the time, but
it was a pretty quick, shoddy job.  Out of the three companies that gave
us estimates for refinishing the floors, Ted from Majestic Flooring was
the only one who noticed the floor damage and included repair in the
estimate. He seems pretty compulsive and meticulous.
I was a little reluctant to pull the trigger, as he also had
the highest estimate.  I wanted a totally dust free job, which he could
guarantee with the equipment that he has.  I was also impressed that he
required me to clean out my hall closet, and that he planned on removing
the powder room toilet and sink in order to get every corner of the
flooring refinished.  Ultimately, I went for the company that I thought
would offer the best quality, and it was definitely a good choice.
Ted and his crew completed the job while we were away on a ten day trip.
The floors look spectacular, and the repair is not noticeable.  They
look brand new.
The only issue I had was a miscommunication on
how much prep work we needed to do before they came.  We were in the
midst of packing and planning a ten day trip overseas with family flying
out of three different airports, so I really wasn't focused on cleaning
out my entire first floor.  They move all the big furniture, and I
thought I just needed to move small items (things from bookshelves,
pantry, closet, etc).  They actually require everything but the largest
of items to be cleared out, so they performed more prep work than they
were expecting.  They did not charge me more, though.  After the job was
finished, I received an email with instructions on how to care for the
flooring, and the written instructions for the prep work were included.
I would recommend asking them for written prep instructions before the
job, which would have been helpful in my case.
This is the
classic locally-owned small company that I look for on Angie's list.  I
love my house and I am very pleased with the care that Ted and his crew
took with it.  If you are looking for reliability, responsiveness and quality, this is the company.

Majestic stripped the floor, sanded it and coated it with multiple layers of polyurethane.  The floor looks better now than when it was brand new.

The original job started July of 2013. It was completed in a timely manner.  Unfortunately, there was a defect with my floor. Majestic came out and inspected my floor. They determined that there was clearly a milling problem and that my floor should be replaced. Of  course the owners had to go through the proper channels with the manufacturer to get the floor replaced at the manufacturer's cost. This process took months. I was offered a new floor the following March by Majestic while they still had not received a satisfactory answer from the manufacturer of the floor. However, the owners stood by the product that they sold me and replaced my floor. They would have replaced it in the Spring, but it took my a long time to decide on the type of wood that I wanted. The owners, Chrissy and Ted Sabol were patient and extremely helpful. My new floor was installed and the workmanship was perfect. The floor looks and functions exactly like I had hoped. I would recommend Majestic to friends and family

They did a great job, the cost was what they estimate. They came back because there was a small problem on the workmanship, so they came back and fixed it. I got a lot of compliments on the floor as well. They weren't the cheapest, but the other people who gave me bids, said that they wouldn't change the floor underneath the carpet. The owner of Majestic came out and said that they will put the hardwood flooring, and he did a more thorough job in the preliminary. The price was fair for what we got.

Ted was right on time to do the estimate and was very knowledgeable in assessing the current condition of the floors and laying out all the options available for our house. One of the rooms we wanted work done in flowed into an addition that was put on by the previous owner so we had to go laminate in that situation.
We were very happy that they could schedule us within our given time constraints, and he explained to us that the refinishing would take 4 days and that no one should be in the house during that time - or at the very least not to walk on the floors. Since we were still in the process of doing repairs before moving in this worked fine for us. Unfortunately there were uncontrollable circumstances where I violated this request, but luckily they were able to buff out the footprint I left in the finish. Sorry!
In the end the floors look amazing. The stain and laminate they helped us pick out were a real good match, and Ted was real responsive throughout the whole process. In the future I'll talk to them first about remodeling our bathrooms as well.
