Ken called me back the same day that I called him. He came out that day to take a look. (I had called Mellandscaping because I had used them a few years back and was very pleased with their work.)  Ken remembered me & the work he had done previously.  He gave me a fair price for the work I wanted done.  I called him & we set a date for him to come out to do the work.  Thy came out on 5/22/15, early, like he mentioned and started working right away.  The whole crew was working on their piece of the work that needed to get done.   

When I got home from work, I was VERY PLEASED with how the landscaping looked.  Everything was nicely planted, mulched & edging looked great.  I have an Evergreen tree on the side of the front lawn & edging was placed around the tree & mulch under the tree.  This was a new look and I liked it.  My neighbors had complimented on how nice it looked & asked who did the work and I told them. I would definitely use Mellandscaping again & would recommend them to anyone who asks.

It's been very good. We have him twice and he's excellent. He's reasonable, prompt, friendly and easy to work with. The reason we got him was I heard a guy talking at the gym one time about how we had a tree taken down and it only cost him like a $125 so wow there's something like though so who did you get? They said "Kim Mellandscaping" so we got him and had him take like 8 trees down. It's really reasonable and good workers.

Ken Mellema, the owner, responded to my request for a quote and information on the same day I called. We set up an appt on June 23. He was on time and i immediately felt that he knew his business and would recommend the right plantings and would have a vision that would help prevent erosion on two steep, and rather large areas we had started as rock gardens. He took a day or two to come up with sketches of each area and layout of shrubs and perennials that would quickly root and fill out the area. He called and came over that day at the appointed time and explained his vision and what was involved with working around a sewer clean out drain and a gutter downspout opening in the one embankment. His idea was to use cement and river rocks to make everything look natural in the area. We contracted the work the next day and set up a schedule to do the work the following week. Ken and his workers were actually early for the time he said he would start, something most contractors don't do anymore. They were professional, pleasant to work with and did the job efficiently and to the specifications he drew up on his sketch. We are very pleased with the work. I will use them again and recommend them to others.

Held off using chain saw until 9AM; crew did a great job preserving good stuff and pulling weeds. Did not overdo the job.

I called Mellandscaping and Ken called me back. He came out to give me an estimate and put the estimate in my mailbox. I called Ken with questions about the estimate and he explained everything to me. He was very professional and thorough. I called Ken back and asked when he could come out and perform the pruning services. He told me within a few days and would called me the night before. Ken did call the night before and Ken and his team were here as promised. The pruning was completed and the front of my house looks 10 times better. I'm very happy with the work and getting compliments all the time.
I will definitely give Ken a call next year to re-do the rock garden.

It went great! It's been a raining summer so far and everything was so overgrown! Mellandscaping did an awesome job cleaning up our property!!

They were very responsive and it was a very good quote process. The follow up was very good. They are here now so hopefully the work is very good. The head of the company came out and we went through a couple of phone calls. We went through what I needed done and he gave me alternatives. I got the quote within a week and they scheduled to do the work in another week or two.

Their rates are very competitive. I find them to be very trustworthy; they really know their stuff.
