The electrical work turned out okay, but I think he might have cut some corners. The cable he ran had a vinyl covering, which I'm not sure is safe. I should have had him arrange for an electrical inspector to check the work. We needed some outdoor lighting, so he was referred to us by our handyman. He gave us a quote. Everything is working fine, but I had a question about the covering for the cable. We have learned that we need to have an inspector lined up, because that keeps the contractor in line. It's really his job to hire the inspector. He sent out an assistant to size up the work and give the estimate, and then it seemed to take him a long time to come for the actual job. When I mentioned some extra work, he was grumpy. I was disappointed in his response about that. It might have been a nuisance job for him, but he had no right to respond like that.
Description of Work: He ran an electrical line to the detached garage, did some wiring, put in an outdoor flood light, and put up a lantern post with a light-sensitive switch at the end of the driveway.

Response from A ANTHONY DRASS ELEC CONTR
I was never asked to have an inspection of the work. This would have added to the cost of the job. I also was not happy when he mentioned the extra work because if he had asked for the work to be done before the job was complete I would have been able to include it in the original job cost. As it turned out the extra work could have easily been done along with the original job. After the job was completed however, the extra work was exactly that, extra. I do every thing I can to keep costs and prices down. I don't mind having an inspection done, or completing extra work but to say I was grumpy is just plain wrong. I pride myself in having a cheery disposition. I love my job and saving customers money is part of it.
