"We hired A to Z to seed a new lawn for us in early June 2023. The grass came up patchy and a thick, green juicy stem. By Aug into September everything had died off and we were left with huge, bare patches of dirt. The weeds overtook and we sprayed them. We contacted the company and they came out and overseeded end of October and admitted it looked terrible. By the following May,2024,we could see there was no new growth. We reseeded the side yard ourselves and I reached out to Ato Z to come look at our yard and 3 weeks later they still hadn't replied. I called and left another message and they never replied. We ended up having to buy grass seed and overseeding everything ourselves which is expensive. Our yard has come in beautifully with the seeding we did so we think they must use a cheap contractors mix which comes up fast but then dies off. We would not recommend this business to anyone looking for a quality lawn seeding. I left a review on their website to which they replied we killed our own yard when we sprayed it September. In Sept.there was no grass left to kill and you can safely spray a new yard 30 days after established. This company doesn't know grass seeding"

Rototilling questions, answered by experts

A perc test takes an average of around two hours, but it can range from one hour up to around six hours. Perc tests that require wider or deeper holes and those that require multiple holes dug throughout your property will take longer because there’s more excavation involved. The actual filling of the hole and monitoring to gauge the rate of percolation should take under an hour per hole.

Yes, hardscaping features bring value to your landscape, and they can even increase the value of your home. Hardscaping works best alongside professional landscaping. According to a survey by the National Association of Realtors and the National Association of Landscape Professionals, researchers found that hardscape upgrades, landscape upgrades, landscape management, and lawn care services are the top four outdoor projects that add value to a property for resale.

People level their yards for practical and cosmetic purposes. If you have a very steep slope in your backyard, you might have a hard time with lawn maintenance. Or, if you want to entertain in the summer but don’t have a flat yard, building a patio would be quite difficult.

The average cost to have rototilling done on your property is around $250, and most homeowners pay between $100 and $350. The total for your rototilling project will depend on the area you need tilled, the quality of the soil, how many roots and shrubs are in the area, and the accessibility of the area. Anything that increases the time to till your soil—like hard clay soil, small entrances to the area that require the use of smaller tools, and roots running through the ground—will all increase your costs.

You should dig 3 to 6 inches deep for plastic edging. Dig as wide as you need to fit your plastic edging into it—2 inches is usually sufficient.
