I have been going to Bernie for almost 20 years. He is very low key, and always gives you options on any repairs, including letting you know if he doesn't think the repair is necessary or could wait.
I wasn't able to get my vehicle to his garage due to a scheduling conflict, so he arranged to pick it up for me. He called shortly afterwards to give me an update and discuss repair options, and gave me a delivery time when I'd have my vehicle back. I have never had a bad experience in 20 years. I always feel I am getting a fair price and expert service.
One thing that stands out when I talk to other people about their mechanics is that I've never had to take a vehicle back for the same problem. He has always fixed things right the first time.
