"We contracted with Ben of Level Interior Solutions LLC for a total interior painting project. Part of the project was to repair a few areas of bad, peeling paint and to repair a ceiling area ruined by a leaking roof. We also wanted lay-in ceiling tile replaced in our sunroom. The scope of the job consisted of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 hallways, kitchen, living room, foyer, TV room, sunroom, office, and laundry room, all in a tri-level home. It is a large project. Ben’s and his partner Skylar’s work is meticulous. They are skilled at prep work. Nothing was left poorly done, or undone. Ben remarked that they will get the house looking as pristine as it looked right after it was newly built. And he did. Ben and Skylar are excellent painters. There are no paint overruns, smears, lines, or misses. The ceilings and walls are perfect. Their work ethic is exactly what is wanted and expected. They always appear when they say they will, inform us of what they will be doing that day, work professionally the entire day, and clean up at the end of the day. The entire job took 2 weeks and 2 days, and never once did we have to sit in a dusty, messy home. Ben and Skylar made sure that the work area was presentably clean and not left in total disruption.   • Brushes: $3–$20 each

  • Tape: $3–$10 per roll

  • Drop cloth: $5–$30 each

You’ll want to wait at least two hours before you paint over a freshly applied caulk. This time frame is the bare minimum, however. If you live in a humid region or a cool climate, you’ll need to wait even longer. A good rule of thumb is to wait a solid 24 hours for the caulk to dry to be on the safe side.

You should always use a primer before painting over wallpaper to help the paint adhere correctly and get a good finish. Not all wallpaper can be painted over, so do a test patch in an inconspicuous area before painting an entire wall. If the primer and paint don’t adhere, you’ll need to remove the wallpaper, prime the wall, and then paint.

With patience, you can often save a dried paintbrush. Soak the bristles overnight and clean the brush as you would any other time. You'll likely have to repeat the cleaning steps, including soaking, more than once.

Yes. If you change your mind at some point in the future, you can paint over your limewash. To get an even coat of paint, you should first prep your surface by cleaning it thoroughly and applying an appropriate primer. Since limewash has a matte finish once it’s dry, you likely don’t even need to sand it first.
