We had had an issue with the refrigerator about 9 months ago, and the repair process from the chain store was a nightmare. Needless to say we weren?t eager to go that route again!
I took a chance and called Martin, unsure if they would be eager to repair an appliance that was not purchased at their store. Our apprehension couldn?t have been more misplaced! They were more than happy to come out, and in fact they managed to fit me in to their schedule the same day (a Thursday). If that had not worked out, they scheduled me for the next Monday (just in case).
To come to the door is not cheap. They charge around $100 for a basic service call, and then if they have to make the repair you are charged for time, parts etc. If they can?t fix it the same day when they return you are not charged for an additional fee; you only pay for time, labor and parts.
We could not have been more pleased. The repair person showed up after calling to let me know he was on the way. He was pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. He was able to fix it right then and there but if that had not been the case I am confident he would have returned and the problem taken care of properly.
They came and tested the water to assess our needs and confirm which system was best for us.
Installation took a few hours so remember you won?t have access to water for a bit.
In recommending this system they not only told us all the good things but also discussed the common complaints and showed us how to work around them.
They followed up about 4 weeks later with another water test to make sure things were functioning properly. In addition they offer a service to come once a year or as needed to service the unit.
All in all they were very professional and would go back again for any appliance needs.
ordered a replacement, which will arrive the week of January 6. Several days after installation, I received a phone call from Martin's to determine if I was pleased with both the service and the appliances. Overall, a positive experience!
