Working with Asset Mortgage was a pleasure from start to finish. I will note that prior to working with Darryl, I had walked away from the closing table at two other mortgage companies because costs increased at the last minute and the final docs contained different language than those originally presented. Though it cost me several hundred dollars in appraisal and other fees, in the end it was worth it (both financially and for the peace of mind) to find the right broker. Asset Mortgage was, finally, that broker. My refi was done at a time when rates were volatile. Darryl monitored my situation and made sure I got the best rate I qualified for when rates went lower. At closing, all costs were as originally presented, and the final docs were as I expected them to be. He offered to close at my home at no additional cost, but was happy to accommodate my request to come to his office so I could get copies bearing all signatures right away. They closed on time and with absolute professionalism. The amount spent above is the total of all fees I paid to Asset Mortgage and the affiliated settlement and title companies, and exludes the title insurance premium, prepaid interest, taxes and other costs I would have had to pay no matter who did the loan. I may have been able to get the same rate somewhere else for a few dollars less and, in fact, that was the case with the two companies I walked away from. But any difference would not have been worth sacrificing the outstanding customer service and integrity of Asset Mortgage. No BS, no pressure, no mistakes/excuses, just hard work to get you a straightforward loan at the best rate available for your credit. Asset Mortgage actually delivers what other mortgage companies only say they can. While I will do my homework on rates and costs the next time I need a mortgage, they would have to give me a really, really good reason to take my business elsewhere. Based on this experience, I doubt that would happen.
