Things have to be pretty bad for me to leave a negative review. I hate to do it but in this case it’s necessary. Frank came over to look at my fridge and had an extremely thick accent. Not a complaint but there was a large language barrier to begin with. When he came into my house, he said he was from house. Which I now realize he meant house appliance repair but even with the accent I know he didn’t say anything after house. Now I had called several people from houzz and Angie’s list. I KNEW he was hired From angi because I called his company purely because there was a special offer/promotion for the service charge. I said to him oh I thought I got your number from Angie’s list. Frank told me they were the same thing. I asked him directly if Angie’s list and house were the same thing. He said yes. Ok, I chalked it up to maybe he didn’t understand my English. It’s important to note that when I made the appointment I mentioned the promotional discount on Angie. She said to tell Frank when he showed up. Then after he was in my house, Frank said he would not honor the discount. He said he knew nothing about it. Even after I showed it to him on the website he still would not lower the very expensive service charge just to enter my house. So I told him water was laying under the bottom ice drawer and freezing. He seemed to know what the problem was without even looking at it but when opening the fridge, he mentioned the seal should be replaced. But he also added …in the future. That it was not necessary right now. Then he told me he’d be back in a few days when the parts came in. He started to walk to my front door. I had to ask him what parts he was ordering. Somehow, without any discussion, he also put in an order for the refrigerator seal. I asked him how much the Parts were. He gave me a serious attitude like he was bothered by a stupid question. I told him I was not going to OK any charges until I had that information. He said he wasn’t sure of the prices and From what I could understand, I heard he was going to just tack it on the credit card that I had to give them when I made the appointment. He was very rude and seemed frustrated that I couldn’t understand him. I was very polite about it but I did have to ask him to repeat himself multiple times. I asked him to send me an estimate for the repair and we could possibly make an appointment after I saw the price. Frank told me he would send it that night. I did not receive it. Then theres the phone number weirdness. I was Repeatedly given a different telephone number every time I tried to contact them. I would call a number, had to leave a message, and then someone would call me back from a different number. On their message, they gave me a different number. I found this all to be very shady. They called me once after that and just left a message letting me know they took the liberty of making an appointment for me. It was my machine so I had no conversation with them. I called them back the day of the appt. and then was told the part wasn’t even in. So the service guy couldn’t make the appointment that they had scheduled for me without my consent because the parts (I never approved because I never received the estimate) did not come in and they never even called to let me know. Then I never heard from them again. I called several times. They never called me back. I finally gave up. I was so aggravated and there was/is absolutely no trust with this person or his business. So I had to pay $189 for him to come out just to look at my fridge seals that was not even why I called him. I later saw his website where it specifically states that they like to talk to people first and try to troubleshoot over the phone so as to save customers from having to pay that service charge. I was not offered this service! Considering that when he came in to my house, he didn’t need to even look at the freezer added to the fact i showed him the offer for discount service charge, I really don’t understand why I was charged so much. I ended up calling another company and it was $106 for them to come out and repair the problem. The whole encounter, from beginning to end, was a nightmare. It would’ve still been bad if I hadn’t had to shell out so much money. I won’t even use Angie anymore. That’s how bad the experience was.

Yes, I hired a pro from House Appliance Repairs and was able to schedule a time only two days from when I made the request to fix my GE gas clothes dryer which was not heating. The repair man arrived promptly on time, diagnosed the problem and replaced a couple of coils on the gas control valve using a parts kit that he had in his van. He vacuumed up the dust on the interior of the unit. After reassembling and testing the dryer, he was done, just 50 minutes after he arrived. I would recommend this repair company to anyone who asked me about appliance repairs.

I used House Appliance Repairs in the past to fix a leaky refrigerator. I had them come out again to repair the same leak 1 year later and Frank could not find a problem. They state that they provide a 90 day period in which they will come back if a problem persists. When I called back 1 week later I was told Frank would give me a call. I never heard from him and called back several more times. He never returned my messages. Such unprofessional action is unacceptable. It resulted in my wasting time and money and still needing appliance repair.

Took freezer back panel off and replaced heater wire to fix issue. Had to have tech return and he changes to different type wire. Several weeks later still wasn't repaired and leaked again now he said the correct part drain heater. I hope however he charged us additional $136.00 said not covered by first visit at $221.54. When I was in business if repair not correct that was on me until customer was satisfied . would not hire this service again

Technician repaired the refrigerator within 20 minutes or so after I had waited three weeks from my home Warranty service provider which had even ordered a part and it wasnt even the problem my refrigerator was having,

Frank is very quick to respond and diagnoses the problems immediately. Very polite and responsive. This was our second time using him in six months.

I called in the morning to have someone come out that as soon as possible. The repairman was at my house in early afternoon. He determined that the compressor was shot and gave me his opinion on whether to repair or replace. He didn't try to sell me on unneeded repairs. I really appreciated the prompt and honest service. Thank you so much!

Frank diagnosed problem, ordered replacement part and returned 2 days later completing the work. The job was very labor intensive and a good investment. I got a senior discount but forgot to mention Angie’s List as source of contact.

Very well! Contacted almost immediately for an appointment. Frank showed up and diagnosed the problem and ordered the replacement fan. Showed up on time both times and remedied the situation very quickly. Happy Thanksgiving to all and our freezer was fixed yesterday to store any leftovers.

He never showed.

When service man arrived, the fridge would't misbehave. He was patient and finally heard it. Said it was the compressor and suggested we wait until it died and get a new one. Also fixed something in the back which has ended the noise. He was very professional and practical.

Diagnosis seemed to fit. Repair fixed the problem, at least so far. Timing reasonable

Came to evaluate. Wrong part when they came back to fix, reorder and back order for part. Almost a month in total time and $366 for a valve replacement. Disappointed in Angie’s List

Excellent. Prompt, professional service. Minor repair, did not need any parts, only labor. Explained what was wrong and was glad it was not the expensive repair for a new pump.

The whole experience went smoothly. My initial email was answered quickly, service was arranged according to my schedule, and the technician arrived within the designated time slot and finished the job promptly and efficiently.

Repair went well. Requested a quote online for a dryer repair through Angies List with House Appliance Repairs late Friday night. Our dryer was running however it was not heating up and actually drying the clothes. On Saturday morning by 830AM, Frank called me to discuss the issue and provided a description of what could be wrong with the dryer. He also provided estimates for the different possible issues and provided a window he would be out at the house that day. Frank texted me that he was on his way, arrived promptly, examined the dryer, let me know what the issue was, and let me know what the cost would be. He fixed the dryer quickly and even cleaned out the dryer vent while he was here. Fast response, great work, would recommend and use House Appliance Repairs again. Pricing seemed fair and reasonable to me.

We never heard from this contractor. Time elapsed is now nearly 3 weeks, and we're still washing the dishes by hand.

It went well... we weren't able to reproduce the problem on the spot so we we're troubleshooting blind and had a 50/50 shot of getting it right. we tried to make an educated guess but it turned out to be wrong. However, Frank fully supported his work and came back and saw the job through to completion and worked with us to get it right. for that I give him credit and would certainly use him again. Mistakes happen but they don't become issues when working with reliable people.

Frank was prompt, courteous and quickly diagnosed the problem. The estimate he provided was more than fair. As it turned out, the job was easier than he thought and went much quicker than he expected. He knocked an additional $25 off the quote for that reason. I would definitely hire him again!

Frank was extremely professional with his emails and was quick to respond. When he came over he explained how the oven and dishwasher worked and was able to figure out what was wrong. He completed everything nicely and was very personable to interact with. I would 100% hire again.

Dryer stopped working at night and added to project list. In the morning received phone call from Frank at Home Appliance repair to answer any questions I might have and set up an appointment. He was up front with prices and was very prompt with meeting arriving on time (we agreed on 1pm and he called me at 12:49 to let me know he was 10 minutes away). He got the dryer apart and fixed within the hour and stayed true to the price he quoted on the phone, no extra charges. He was polite, worked clean, and did a great job overall. Could not ask for better service.
