Rob came out just as scheduled.  He explained why the door was so jerky and noisy and made the appropriate adjustments for smoother operation.  He also advised of the overall condition of the door so that we know what to expect in the future.  He was a pleasure to deal with.

The job went fine! I explained to him what was going on with the garage door and he promptly executed the maintenance. Garage door is working perfectly.

Rob Bennett came out (Grand Rapids to Lansing -- they service a very large area) on 8/7/14 to look at my garage door & opener and see what's up. My first impression was good because (unlike a lot of "grunts" that showed up in the past to do electrical, plumbing or carpentry work) he was clean cut, articulate, friendly and just came across as honest and trustworthy. 
Our door had been going up fine, but getting it to come down was another story, no matter which remote we used. It was a hit & miss, and sadly, we had to leave the door open a couple of times when no one was home. Scary. It vibrated and was very, very noisy and made screeching sounds which scared us,  the dog (& probably the neighbors, too). It seemed like it wasn't going to hold much longer. 
Fortunately, Rob came to our rescue. While he couldn't make our original time slot on the 7th, he called in plenty of time to set a new one, same day. He saw right away the obvious (to him... lol) reason why the door wasn't closing. He straightened out the sensors and tightened them, so they could actually see each other and allow the door to come down every time. He showed me how to fix that problem in the future if it should happen again.  
I left him alone to do his inspection, grease tracks, lube whatever you call the other parts, and soon he asked to show me what he'd done and what needed to be fixed. The rollers (all 10 of them) were wobbly (causing the vibration) and scraping against ball bearings (making the loud noise). These needed to be replaced for $7.80 each, totaling $78.00. Rob explained this was a common problem after years of wear, so he always kept the parts on hand. I gave him the go ahead, and he went to work.
After everything was completed, he showed me the quieter and stable door with the new rollers. Yay! He also pointed out things that were done incorrectly at the original installation before we owned the house, such as using old parts instead of the new parts supplied to install a new opener, setting up only one spring when there should have been two, etc.  
Before he left, he educated me on the proper way to open and close the door manually in case of a power outage, or if the door just wasn't going up or down at all. Then he showed me how to use the different buttons on our opener's wall-mount box. I had no idea we could lock it so the door wouldn't open by any remote if we were going out of town or whenever else it was needed.
All that to say, I was very happy with his work and expertise. Any number of companies would have taken advantage of my lack of know-how, but he didn't do that. He lived up to my impression he would be honest and trustworthy. I would call him again (he even provides 24/7 service), and will recommend him to friends and neighbors. 
My husband and I are very thankful for Rob's good, affordable, work. Well done, Rob!.

Lubricated tracks, spring, rollers, hinges and bearings; adjusted the opener open and close limits; adjusted the opener light socket.

Showed and explained what was done, and asked if I had any questions.

Rob contacted me the day after I requested information.  We set up a time for a quote, and he came to the house at the scheduled time.  We discussed options for what I wanted, he was very informative and suggested some things I did not know were available.  We agreed on what work I wanted done: new openers, buttons, keypad, tune up the door, new stripping, and we agreed on a price.   We set the day for install, and he left.  On the install day, he arrived on time, completed the install, answered my questions and left two hours later. The work was done well, and he cleaned up before he left.   A simple job, made even simpler by a reliable worker.

I am very disappointed as I had high hopes from this deal, but after no contact for this long, I do not want them to come out to my home.

My garage door  is beautiful and very quiet.  It works like a charm for which I am very happy.  However, other things I am not thrilled about.  The door was to be installed in 1-1 1/2 weeks and it was almost  2 1/2 weeks. Since I have never purchased a garage door before I did not know that I was responsible for purchasing the bulb that fits into the opener.  So now I have to purchase a bulb and hire someone to install it in the opener as I am not able to.  He also left a box of trash that I will need to dispose of.

He did extra work. His price was reasonable. He did a very good job, i was happy with his work. He was very professional. He was to the point and he did what he had to. He was very personable and knew what he was doing unlike those who work to charge more. He was prompt.

Great experience, I thank Rob every time I open my garage door without having to carry the "playing card size" remote, my opener was that old! I now have a key pad and the new remote stays in the car. He repaired the out of alignment tracks and replaced the metal rollers with plastic. I followed Rob's recommendation and purchased an opener with a battery backup since the power goes out now and again where I live. That is a tie for "the best part of replacing my opener" with how quiet the new opener operates!
Rob gives an approximate time for the appointment and calls the day he's coming also to confirm the time. Appreciate that he offers a senior discount and that he put the "safety recommendations" inside the garage where they're easy to read along with contact information for emergency service which he also provides. And all old parts are disposed of, not left behind.
Rob is very professional, organized, and knowledgeable, I will definitely use his company again and highly recommend!

My garage door was in pretty bad shape.  We bought this house 3 months ago and it was pretty evident that the garage door had not been maintained, probably for decades.  I signed up for the $99 garage door tune-up hoping to get by with just that, but Rob pointed out how the cables were fraying and the rollers were shot and needed to be replaced. Glad I did.  It now works like a champ and I don't have to worry about it stopping in mid-stream anymore.  Thanks Rob, job well done!

That turned out very well. He replaced the  rollers on the garage door and also did some adjustment to some springs. He also did some lubrication too. One technician came out and was here for about an hour. He was professional, friendly and courteous. The result of the work was very good. The rollers that he replaced was an additional cots and that as about $75.00.

Rob did a great job and is easy to work with.  Needs to work on punctuality.

We were happy with the service, he was on time when he said, an we were happy with the garage door. He explained about different doors an which ones were better the others.

The cable on my garage door broke essentially locking my cars in the garage. This was on a saturday morning. Rob was quick to respond and was at our house about 3 hours later. He fixed the cable and gave a tune up of both of our garage doors. He was quick and looks to have done good work. The openers are much quieter now (they were super loud and old before). The price was better than I was expecting and he offered the tune up at a good discount because of my membership on Angie's list. I would hire him again if my doors need more work.

Rob did a very good job.  He provided an accurate estimate in advance.  He called to ask if we could re-arrange the schedule the day of installation; this was not an issue, since we were not going to be home while he did the work.  When we arrived home, our new GDO was installed and working.  Would recommend Rob for garage door opener maintenance or replacement.

He was running a little late but called to let us know. He worked quickly and made sure it worked well. He had to return with some additional parts the next day and it works well now .
