In my search for a good place to board my cat for three weeks, I stopped at Acorn Valley to tour the facilities. They were very happy to take time out of their day to explain their housing system and feeding schedule in detail, as well as show me the kennels in the "cat room." The "cat room" is kept separate from the "dog room" (even by noise) with clean kennels lining the wall. A series of windows with comfy-looking ledges face the kennels. Each cat is allowed an hour each day to stretch out and spend time on the ledge and receive special attention from a care-giver. If no other cat is boarded at the same time, the cat has free range of the room. Organic, all-natural food is provided by the facility, but bringing food is recommended for back-up should the cat not like the variety. Special requests, like afternoon snacks, are entertained by the staff with understanding and precision. Each kennel is provided with its own litterbox which is one less thing to remember when juggling cat, toys, food, and catbeds all in the same trip. Based on the enthusiasm of the staff and their willingness to provide special treats and attention for my persnickety princess, I decided my cat would be in good hands at Acorn Valley, and I was not disappointed. Two additional things to note before boarding here is that they do require proof of rabies and feline leukemia vaccinations, and only take cash or check.

The facility is very clean and very well run. The employee who gave us a tour and checked our golden retriever in and out of the facility was great. She answered all of our questions and was very patient with our concerns. The place is very well staffed, during our three visits there we saw several people working each time and, the kennel is staffed and run by adults not teenagers which I also found reassuring.

I was very impressed. They were very open. I didn't have to make an appointment to check out their facility. I just walked right in. They immediately took me to the back, so that gave me a very strong feeling that they keep their facility in a very high standard. The dogs all seemed to be very calm and the person that took me around and showed me the facility was very detailed in the schedule that they use with the dogs. And it seemed to be very well planned and very feasible. So I had a good feeling.

You need to call and make a reservation. I called them and they gave me all the details and offered to give me a look at where they would board my cats. The facilities are very clean, they have a 4x4x4 kennel and in a row of windows. They let the cats out individually so they can climb the window sills and look out. Some people with dogs will drive an hour to board their dogs there. Cats and dogs are kept in separate areas. The cats have perches and a couple of shelves to climb on. They are very lovable with the pets.

I needed to board my dog and was concerned as I had never boarded him before. I always had a family member to watch him. I did some research and was directed to several boarding facilities including Acorn Valley by my vet. After reviewing these and a couple other facilities, I chose Acorn Valley. Though it was the farthest place from my home, I'm very glad that I chose Acorn. The facility was very clean. In addition, I was welcomed to take my dog back to his run. All dogs have their own run, which was nice as my dog is over 80lbs. I was also concerned as my dog is grumpy toward most other dogs. The staff member assured me that none of the dogs are mixed, unless two are brought in together by the same person and are boarded together. She also said that the dogs are taken out four times a day for 15 minutes each time for a walk or out in an enclosed area (with no other dogs).
When I picked my dog up, he was of course excited to see me. Once again they let me go back to get him - which I liked. (I used another boarding facility years ago with another family dog (long gone), and the facility just whisked him away behind the and quot;staff onlyand quot; door.) After we signed out and left the building, my dog pulled toward the trail as if to go for a walk. (We didn't notice the trail when I dropped him off.) I felt that he was taken well care of.
The prices are very reasonable, but bring cash or a check because they don't take credit cards.
The staff I met were very helpful, friendly, and seemed very caring. I highly recommend Acorn Valley in Quakertown.

We take our dog there every time we need to be out of town. He gets plenty of attention, exercise and care. We are very pleased.

My pet-sitter said that Acorn Valley Pet Boarding is the only place he brings his dogs. That’s what prompted us to go there. Their facility is clean. They provide spacious accommodations for dogs than most places I've seen. The workers take care of the dog and treat them really well. They charge $17 a day. I will definitely use them in the future. In fact we are planning to board our dog in a couple of weeks. We travel a lot so we realized that it is important for our dog to have a kennel. When we take our dog to drop him, he runs in to this place happily and jumps all over. The dog seems to be really happy there.

Our dog has stayed here on numerous occasions, most recently in May 2006. I always find that when I pick her up she's happy and healthy, which is the main thing! But in addition, the staff is very service oriented (once they stayed past closing hours to accommodate me when I got lost on the way there). Prices are reasonable and there are no add-on charges for things they really *should* be doing, like letting the dogs outside to play once in a while! I don't hesitate to recommend them.
