It took Levi approximately 2 weeks to get back to me after the initial
call fora n estimate. But when he did get back to me he cam the same
day and gave the estimate. We thought about it overnight and called him
on a Sat. to confirm that we wanted to proceed. The materials were
ordered then on Monday and work began on Thursday 12-18 and even after
adding on a new roof on our deck the work was completed today 12-20.
There were no cost over rides and the job was extremely well done. His
men were professional and very clean. They even worked thru the rain
and wind today to get the job completed.
I can not say enough good things about their work.
We have a vacation property that we will be adding a rood to the deck on
in the spring. We thought we knew who was going to do the job. But
after seeing the job that Levi and his men do we may have to rethink
that. Anyone out there looking for a new roof please consider this
company. By the way we had a tin roof put on. That is not something
that is very common in the PGH area but this company will travel from
Punxutawney.

I obtained four estimates from reliable contractors in the area. I called USA CONTRACTING (AMISH USA- as advertised in the "Altoona Mirror" newspaper) and left a voice message. Call was promptly returned and an estimate date was made within 5 days. Levi Byler, (owner), phoned on his way to the appointment and let me know his estimated time of arrival. Levi arrived on time and immediately took out his ladder and climbed onto my roof to get measurements. Within 15 minutes, Levi had given me a written price on the back of his business card after making calculations in his notebook. Estimates were obtained from three other roofing contractors for metal roof installation and USA CONTRACTING/AMISH USA came in with the lowest bid with an average savings of over $1,000.00. I obtained addresses and phone numbers of homeowners in the area who had work recently completed by Levi's crew. All were highly satisfied with the work performed and the prices quoted. I went to one difficult roof project completed in-person and was impressed by the quality of the work. After deciding to go with USA CONTRACTING/AMISH USA, Levi was contacted and a written contract was mailed out within 48 hours of my telephone call. One-half payment down was required after signing the contract and mailing it back so that materials for the job could be ordered and obtained. Levi contacted me within 24 hours of receiving my signed contract along with 1/2 payment and gave me an estimated time as to when my job would begin (within 3 weeks). In one week, Levi called and stated that my material were in and would be dropped off that day at my house, which they were in one drop-shipment bundle. One week later, I was contacted on a Friday that my job was moved up due to materials being late on another job, and work could start on Monday. The crew arrived on that Monday as stated they would, between 8-8:20am. Work immediately began with ladders going up and 1" by 4" wood planks installed on the roof. Due to excessive heat that day, work stopped at 2:30pm with over 3/4 of the job already completed. Crew arrived back at work the next day at the same time and completed all work along with additional work I had added, (installing two gable vents on each end of the house for an extra $150.00), by 1 pm. All trash was picked up and hauled away by the crew and my yard area was left clean. Metal roof was guaranteed for 40 years. I was very impressed by the professionalism and punctuality of this young crew especially since they had to travel about two hours to get to the work site. Also, I was impressed by the quality of the work performed and the price given with NO surprises. All in all, it was a pleasurable experience and I would highly recommend this company for metal roof installations.
