Salesman was nice and knowledgeable.
The Joyce Manufacturing 4 season sunroom product and customer support is very good. I contacted them directly when I was not getting a return call about our order. They provide the warranty and assured me that warranty work could be arranged through other installers.
Owner was totally disrespectful on the phone and was demanding final payment sent with technician on final day of work. The technician still had many things to complete that Friday and material was laying all around. We were requesting time to review the work over the weekend once the mess was cleared. It was very upsetting.
It's a good thing that we did as there were some uncompleted tasks and fixes that needed to be made. A different crew was sent the following week and were very pleasant and completed the work as noted and the final check was sent back with them.
Since then we found some shortcuts in the insulation underneath the room and the drywall and trim work is sub-par.
The actual Joyce structure was put together well and is a very nice addition.
Poor communication - They had our deposit for a winter installation from mid December through the beginning of March when they started. Did not return phone call requesting a start date. Technician did not listen or communicate well during job. We never knew when he would arrive or how much work would get done. The deck stairs that were reconfigured were not well planned or discussed beyond a mere pointing of fingers and were not painted as was discussed where the wood was exposed. Every conversation was a chore. Once he found out he wasn't taking the scrap from the deck (I can build a small deck with it) it was heaped on around and on top of our fire pit.
Technician stated a few times about how far it was to come down here. Maybe they should stay more local to their area.
I would never have them back.
"Thanks for the review [member name removed]. I'm sorry you feel we didn't communicate well with you. As far as the job starting, if you remember March, it was a very cold March, and we worked outside. As per our contract we ask for final payment at completion. There is also a clause in our contract that states you can hold 5% of the contract. We allowed you to hold almost half of the contract, no problem. You and your mother looked at the project, came up with a list and we fixed the things you guys came up with. We also painted which you were told multiple times we don't paint. The hole in the drywall happened while we were moving furniture for you so we could start the job, and you told us your painter would handle it. As far as the deck stairs, you must be talking about the people who initially built the deck. We didn't lay that part of the project out. We just gave you a maintenance free product over your existing structure, as per our agreement. We typically would haul away an old structure. You said you wanted it to burn in your fireplace so to me the logical place to put it would be by the fire pit. Once your project was started it finished in a timely manner, it's hard cutting vinyl when its 15 degrees, it will crack. It's unfortunate that you couldn't hire two people to do the same project, just to see really how two different contractors handle their projects. If that were the case I don't think we would be receiving a poor rating. We are sorry things didn't go exactly as you had hoped but this was a challenging project, we feel the room was awesome, with an even more awesome view. We spoke to you when we were done and you said"We love it" I'm confused!"
