At the conclusion of the plumbing project, we discussed in detail the next project which included repair of the master bedroom ceiling and wall damage caused by a roof leak, paint the damaged wall, and the entire master bedroom ceiling.  Paint was to be supplied by us.
He gave us a verbal job quote which we accepted and he said he would be back in touch with us by mid-February at the latest.
When we hadn't hear from him by that time, we messaged him via Angie's list asking when he would be scheduling the job. 
Messaged him again a week later as he had not responded , but this time asked him to let us know whether he still wanted the job or not?no reply.  After another 5 days with no response, we called him and left a phone message.
Yet again no response - we feel his lack of communication is unprofessional and disrespectful.
We are very disappointed as we had previously left an excellent review and had hoped to have him as our handyman.

Jim Shrum responded promptly to our Angie's List message which described the work we wanted performed and gave us a job quote as requested.
His estimate was much less than one we had received from another handyman.
He was able to schedule the work in the same week.  He arrived promptly and proceeded to put on shoe covers - most contractors aren't that considerate.  We supplied all of the necessary parts.  Jim was able to complete the work in about 2 hours.
He made sure that the areas were cleaned up before he left.
As we were impressed with the quality of his work and learned that he was experienced in all areas of construction (he rehabs entire houses), we've already scheduled him for a ceiling repair and painting in the master bedroom.

He was timely, well organized and did a clean up after his work.

Jim Shrum has done several jobs for me since I moved into my new home in September, 2013. First he drywalled my unfinished attic so I could use it as an office. He also installed new windows in the attic, and it has made a huge difference. He also layed my new hardwood floor downstairs, doing a wonderful job at a very reasonable price - much cheaper than Home Depot, who wanted to charge me an excessive amount for things I didn't even need. I will definitely be using Jim for all my home improvement needs. Completely professional guy!
