We have a 100-yr old brick home so, of course, the door size are not quite the modern-day standard size.  Plus, we have a lovely colored-glass transom above the door that we wanted to preserve.   The gentleman who does door installs for the Pottstown store, Vince, came to our home and discussed the installation particulars with my husband.
Vince said we had two choices with our non-standard size door - order a custom-size door to fit the existing opening or order a standard door and he would modify the opening size to accommodate it.  He'd be able to preserve the transom, too.  Option 2 cost us and add'l $200 in labor but that was far less than the cost of two custom-size doors.
The doors were ordered and came in on-time.  We were advised that it would take about 4 hours to install the doors because of the frame work that needed to be done.  Vince and his colleague arrived promptly at noon today.  They encountered a few surprises which is to be expected in such an old home but they overcame them.  The doors look great, were installed correctly and will blend in perfectly once we paint the door trim.
The gentlemen obviously take pride in their work and it shows in our installation.  They were also very personable.  We've got a couple more doors to replace and, based on our experience today, we'd purchase them at Home Depot.
