Diane's Discount Pet Supplies & Adoption Center

My daughter and son-in-law, who are African American, had an extremely negative experience with Diane's Discount Pet Supplies & Adoption Center. They visited on a weekend, liked a dog, and put in an application. Workers said they (the workers) did not know the criteria for adoption and that they had no say in the matter. Four days later, the couple revisited in the evening to hand deliver shot records for their cat, which Diane’s said it was unable to obtain. That evening they had a difficult time getting anyone to talk to them, much less help them. At last, a worker said that their application couldn’t be found. Then the worker asked them repeatedly about tying the dog in the yard on a short leash, despite the couple’s denial (which easily could be confirmed by friends, neighbors, and relatives who had visited) and the fact that their backyard is enclosed by a 6½-foot-high wood fence and that their older dog had never been tied to anything in the yard. Finally the couple was told that the adoption “might not work out.” The next day they received an email stating that Diane’s had been in touch with the place in Tennessee where the dog had come from and that those people had said that the couple could not have the dog. My daughter and son-in-law have been approved for adoption by all other organizations to which they’ve applied. Previously, a friend of ours – a white woman – had no trouble at all adopting a dog from Diane’s. Reach your own conclusion.

They are very holistic and caring about your pets and animals.  They provide good service.

The people that work there care about the animals a lot. They make it affordable to get your animal spayed and neutered. They also offer a low cost vaccine clinic which I like a lot too.
