Nyce Contracting

We found Nyce Contracting through another service back in 2006 and hired them to regrade our back yard. We had a concrete and stone wall that needed removal and a paver patio we wanted pulled up. Their quote was reasonable and they were responsive and professional for much of the project. However, they were rather sloppy with their work. They destroyed a number of plantings, even in areas that weren't regraded. They pushed a lot of soil up against our fence, causing the fence to bow and prematurely rot. They left a lot of concrete just below the surface of the ground, some of which we had to request they remove and some we just removed ourselves (or is still buried out there). They ended up mixing the patio foundation (crushed stone and sand) in with the soil, making it impossible for grass to grow in those areas. When asked to supply top soil to cover this, they provided "fill" from another construction site that was poor quality and contained a lot of weed seeds, causing a big headache for years to come. By the end of the job, they stopped communicating with us, never returned to complete the soil preparations, and didn't bother collecting the small portion of money we were holding waiting for them to fix the soil. While some of the work was completed well (they pulled up many pavers and helped stack them for later use), their sloppiness in other areas and unwillingness to complete the job to our satisfaction made it an overall poor to fair experience and we would not use them again.
