Earlier this year I had flooding in my basement due to a sump pump failure. My entire 3000 sq foot basement had water damage on the floor (carpet) and along the baseboards of the walls. Based upon a recommendation of a friend, I immediately called Michael James Contracting to help deal with the situation. Within hours, Michael discussed the problem with me and his team was at my home to remediate and advise on how to keep my basement mold-free. Not only was his team professional and speedy, his fees were extremely reasonable and his approach was highly effective. Ultimately, what appealed most to me about working with Michael was that he was extremely honest and was clearly a very reliable and responsive contractor. Given the scope of the water damage, I am amazed that to this day, my basement is completely mold-free. After working with Michael and his team on the water problem in my basement, I approached them again for renovations I wanted done in my basement. Michael quickly provided me with an estimate for tiling, painting and the building of several rooms. Not only was his estimate extremely reasonable but he worked extensively with me to find the most cost effective methods for achieving the look I wanted in my basement. From the commencement of the renovations, Michael and his team were always professional, courteous, unobtrusive and above all, extremely clean neat and tidy. While I have had many experiences with contractors and home renovations, I found my experience with Michael and his team to be the best and would not hesitate to call upon them for another project. Not only did they stay within the parameters of our projected budget, the workmanship was stellar. It is clear that their attention to detail and design aesthetic far surpasses that of any other contractor I have worked with in the past. I do not usually post reviews on service providers but I truly believe that Michael and his team sincerely deserve praise and unqualified endorsement for a job well done. For brevity's sake I will conclude by saying that I cannot possibly recommend them more highly for any home renovation project, and that I intend to use them again in the near future.
