WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A CONTRACTOR IN 30 YEARS!!! The Madison Kelley Contractors LLC installed a roof at our house on 13 August 2014, with a 10-year warranty on materials and workmanship. In early December 2021, we put our house on the market and had a buyer within days, as the property is well maintained. The buyer’s home inspected identified the following problems with the roof: 1. “There are ripples in the roofing material. This will shorten the lifespan of the roof. Recommend a quailed roofing contractor evaluate and repair or replace as needed.” 2. “The roofing was installed using roof cement as a flashing material. A properly designed roof does not rely on roofing cement. The material dries out and cracks. This will need to be monitored and maintained. Contact a qualified professional.” After the inspection, we have contacted the Madison Kelley Contractors and asked for help. The company sent their worker, Bob, to inspect the roof. He wrote in a text message: On Tue, Dec 21, 2021, 10:37 AM Robert Lawrence wrote: “This is Bob with Madison Kelly roofing and I just checked your roof out at 7 Xxxxx street Bridgeport. That roof is beyond any kind of repair So we can give you a quote to install a new one if you'd like. The top and front porch. Let me know what you want to do. Bob @ XXX-XXX-6093 Give me a call or email. Either way but I need your full name, billing address and phone number. Thanks so much” After we stated that the roof was installed by their company he wrote back: On Thu, Dec 23, 2021, 8:28 AM Robert Lawrence wrote: “This is Bob with Madison Kelly again and look at the wrong roof. I looked at your neighbors by mistake.” - Bob confirmed in the first text that he was at the correct address!!! Later we have contacted the Madison Kelley Contractors and restated that the roof and workmanship was guaranteed for 10 years and only 7 year and 4 months have passed since the installation. His response was a satellite picture of other roofs on the street and statement: [that] all the other houses have a protective coating installed. Also, that the company advises all customers to have their roofs coated after 1 year and not later than 3 years. - The roofers that installed the roof never advised us on any additional requirements for the warranty to be valid. The invoice does NOT declare that the roof needs any additional work/protection/maintenance or any other procedure for the 10-year warranty to be valid. The company’s website does NOT list any additional requirements for the 10-year warranty to be valid. Additionally, the Landmark®, the producer of material used by the Madison Kelley Contractors, website states that the “CertainTeed Landmark” shingles roofs for private residential buildings have “Lifetime limited transferable warranty”. It also states that other than visual inspections, especially after a severe weather, and general cleanliness and removal of algae, moss, or other debris are the only maintenance requirements. - The roof in question is very clean and does not have any conditions described on this website. In my last email in which I asked for some kind of resolution regarding the warranty repairs or declaration that the Madison Kelley Contracting will not honor the warranty specified in the signed invoice, the company stopped responding to my emails. As of 25 January 2022, I have not received any communications from the Madison Kelley Roofing. As I am in dire need of selling our home, because of my financial situation, I am forced to hire another roofing company to correct the discrepancies in the workmanship performed by the Madison Kelley Roofing.

Excellent communication; they replied to all of my inquiries promptly. From the date I first contacted them to the time the work was completed was 9 days, which I consider more than reasonable. The repair was thorough and well done. They also left the area clean and without debris. I would use these guys again.

Very punctual?for scheduled appointments and performance of work according to established schedules. The only area that would be considered less than excellent was the scheduling of the French Door part of the job, which was delayed significantly due to a supplier delivering an incorrect door on the first 2 attempts.? At this point the?rest of the?project was already completed and this part seemed to get a bit lost in the shuffle.? Once brought to Paul's attention, he promptly got it moving along again.?Once completed, the end result was excellent. We would definitely use Madison-Kelly Contractors again.

Professional team showed up on schedule, worked from 7 am until dusk daily to remove and replace roof. All debris was cleaned up throughout each day. Our home looks better than new And work was completed faster than we expected

Paul Kelly runs an honest business and his crew was prompt, respectable, and cleaned up afterwards. I have recommended Madison Kelly Contractors to family and friends who have felt the same way.

Excellent Job and value.  The team showed up at 7am on Saturday morning quietly settring things up and not disturbing the neighborhood.  By 3:30pm we had a new roof.   Half the roof needed new underlayment which they did quickly and efficiently.   The even improved the water flow around my chimney.    It looks great and clean up started the moment things started coming off.  They left the site free of nails and had the dumpster off premise first thing Monday morning.    I would recommend these guys anytime.  My neighbors asked for their business card.   Paul was responsive whenever we had questions.

Madison Kelly filed for necessary permits.  They showed up on time, did a beautiful job and excellent cleanup.  They were on the job for about 12 hours .

Prompt, reliable

They arrived as expected to look at the issues, explained to me what they saw and happily answered my questions.  Gave me a quote for services and when they arrived worked hard and were very clean.  They were very courteous and professional and would recommend their services to my closest friends.

It went fine, they did a good job.  I would call them again.

Madison Kelly Contractors are very thorough. They had the know how to do the job. They did it in a timely way. They brought it in for the price that they gave us an estimate.

It was cold weather and the men came at about 7 a.m. and stayed until 6 p.m.in the frigid, dark weather because they knew there was snow expected and they wanted to make sure that the roof was done. There was nothing about this company that was not good; what they said they would do they did and what materials they said they were going to use, they used.

Madison Kelly Roofing is one of the best contractors I have had the pleasure to deal with. I have since recommended them to family and friends and as far as I know, all have been equally pleased.

I recieved estimates from several contractors for this project. (I actually got one from a very slimy one that prompted me to get an angies list membership in the first place.) Using Angies list I received an estimate from 3 contractors and narrowed my top choices to Caranzza roofing and siding, and Madison Kelly.  Both companies were speedy with their estimates and very responsive to my questions (we are first time home owners and this was the most expensive project we have ever done so we wanted to make sure everything was done right).  We liked both companies equally so our decision came down to price (Madison Kelly was cheaper).  They ordered our window as soon as they recieved the deposit and began work the day after the window arrived.  The job turned out to be more difficult then they expected (they had to reroute an air conditioning duct, and had to do stone work below the window). The job took two days (they predicted one) and they did not raise the price.  The gutters work great, and the window is gorgeous.  We will need a new roof in the next few years, and they will definately be the first company that i call!

I contacted Madison Kelly and two other companies through email. They promptly replied to my email the next day. One company quoted me $525, while Madison Kelly quoted me $200. The third company did not reply at all. After accepting their quote they said they could come do it the next day. My wife and I were unable to be home at the time, but this was not a problem for them. They came and did the work the next day while we were at work and then they sent me a bill via email. I did not have a very "personal" experience with them, but I'd have to say they were convienient, easy to deal with, prompt and reasonably priced.

Their service cost me $2300. They replaced the entire roof and a small roof covering my front porch. However, they didn’t honor the coupon that I had because my roof was smaller than what was mentioned in the coupon. I was okay with that, though. I will definitely use this company in the future.

In the end I was happy with the work they did. We had a leak from the ridge vent, initially they were very responsive- came for an estimate 3 hours after I called. Their price was about 1/2 the other 2 I got for the same work. Problem was that from the time we agreed to them doing the work till the time the work was done was about 3 weeks (Actual job only took a few hours). At first they had "misplaced" our deposit, then they were backlogged with work, then they didnt show or call the day they were supposed to do it... all the while our roof was leaking. In the end it took a while but the work they did was great, and considering we saved about $700 compared to the other estimates, the waiting was worth it.

Excellent. A three man crew (all three were friendly and hard working) completed the entire job in one day. This included removing the old roof, new felt underlayment, membrane on lower 2' of each roof, premium shingles (GAF Timberline = "better" grade), new drip edging, and flashing. They hauled off all debris and cleaned up very well. The service performed were exactly as written up in the estimate. There were no surprises, and final cost was exactly as estimated. I was completely happy with their work and the entire process (bidding, estimating, and work). Paul Kelly is the owner and answered any questions I had during the process pronmptly. I would recommend them highly.
