The job did not go well. First, JDS Painting was hired and Laffco Painting showed up at our house--this should have been the clue to send everyone away. But, we wanted to trust things would be okay; everything was not okay. The spackle work prior to painting was not done correctly and when this was pointed out, we were told not to be concerned it would be done correctly and would be a smooth finish when complete. We were also told the crew had to hurry and get finished because they had to be somewhere else. We wanted to trust what we were being told and allowed Laffco painters to proceed. To our disappointment, the finished work turned out horrible and not as quoted. Raised areas of spackle were not sanded properly and show through the paint, areas and items in the room were not taped and protected allowing significant drywall dust to settle on newly installed items within the room and drywall dust to settle throughout our house. What little taping was required was ignored causing damage to some items that now have to be replaced. Laffco Painting(Shawn Lafferty) and his crew were more concerned about getting in and out of our home as quickly as possible with little concern of doing the job right. We are now left with a room that shows the multitude of failures in workmanship. We are now in a position to search for another painter who will be willing to take on this project to correct Laffco Painting's poor preparation and painting. We would never recommend Laffco Painting (Shawn Lafferty), his crew or JDS Painting to anyone.

Generally well. The job was completed on schedule and extremely quickly. However, one small problem has not been addressed after sever months and a few emails. And a person we recommended Shawn to has not had their job scheduled.

Shawn's crew did a thoroughly professional job of prepping and painting my house. They were courteous, punctual and touched base with me on a regular basis about my satisfaction with their work. Scheduled work around a few rainy days, but completed the job in a reasonable amount of time. Their estimate was complete and reasonable for the work. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Very clean, professional, and communicative every step of the way. The work looks great -- very clean lines -- and we're happy with the timing and professionalism.

Between Thanksgiving and my wife's schedule, scheduling was a little tricky. But Jason (?) arrived on time and did a superb job in less than a day. We have found no flaws or misses, despite the amazing speed. This was a top-quality job for a fair price.

LaffCo did an excellent job painting the interior of our home. I was so impressed by the quality of their work and how quickly they got the job done. The painters arrived as scheduled and got right to work. I would definitely recommend LaffCo to anyone in need of painting services.

I hired Laffco to paint the my ceilings. The bid was competitive, and they were responsive and professional. They also painted the hallways in my building and did a similarly good job

Wonderful. Shawn and team showed up bright and early on the day they said they'd be here. Work was done the following morning. Looks great.

We were completely satisfied with the work done by LaffCo Painting. We were moving into a new home and had a tight deadline to get the painting done before the moving company brought our belongings. To complicate matters further, the work had to be done by 9/5/18, just two days after Labor Day weekend. Shawn Lafferty and his team completed the work in two days We are extremely satisfied with the quality of the work, and they left the house completely clean - as though they were never there. I highly recommend this company.

Work was projected to take 2 days and was finished within expected time. The painting crew was 3 painters.

It went very well. Jason was polite, friendly and professional. He worked the entire time and did an excellent job for a reasonable price.

It was apparent they never used this type of paint before, even though they said they use it all the time. Paint specifications require 12-15 Mils Dry Film Thickness or a minimum of 12 1/2 gal for each of 2 coats. The first painter painted my entire house with 5 gallons. Eventually got the paint job I paid for and expected, but had to watch them and the amount of paint that was used. I did have to stop them one day, when they were trying to paint my house in the rain.

We purchased a 40yo fixer upper that was in need of some serious work. We hired Shawn because his quote was the most reasonable and he said he could complete the job in 2.5 days. We had almost our entire house painted (minus the bathrooms and laundry room), and moulding installed in the dining room. His team was punctual and professional, and he completed the job in only 2 days. I was grateful that he could finish so quickly because we were on a time crunch before moving in. He definitely missed some small areas (some drywall imperfections could have been patched better, some areas of poor paint coverage) and said he was going to come back but never did, so I touched up some paint areas myself. I thought the value for the job done was good enough to recommend him to a friend, and was sad to hear that he did not do nearly as good of a job on my friend’s house (she said he was short-staffed, paint was dripped on her wood floors, etc). I would hire him again.

My kitchen looks like it has new cabinets. Received many compliments. Shaun and his crew were very professional and did excellent work. They were very neat and clean, leaving no mess. He came highly recommended from a friend and I would refer family and friends to Laffco Painting without hesitation.

It’s funny how so many contractors make it really difficult for you to hire them, by not answering the phone or returning calls etc; and even after you do hire them, not being professional or responsive at all. My experience with Shawn & Laffco was the most professional I’ve ever experienced hiring someone to do work on my home. The were great. The work was excellent. The house has never looked better. Highest of Recommendations.

Great. Multiple layers of wallpaper needed to be removed. The rooms look fantastic. We are very happy with the work done.

Shawn and his team were extremely professional. Shawn was great to work with, he took his time with us to help us choose the right paint and style. His team was courteous and very clean. We are very happy with the new look of our house and would absolutely work with Shawn and his team again.

Shawn did an excellent job painting my son’s room. The room looks great and he was very organized and clean. I’m going to hire them again to paint the rest of the inside of my house.

We were very happy with the time frame and scope of work. Our kitchen is gorgeous now! We were also very happy with how attentive Shawn was, and how quickly he responded to our many questions. I will definitely use LaffCo Painting again!!

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a contractor. Do not let them paint your cabinets. Extremely rough and unprofessional looking. My 6 year old could have done a better job. They didn’t follow the method I was told. When I said they look terrible, they disagreed and refused to acknowledge how awful the finish was and believed they did an amazing job. They did come back twice to fix, but had no clue what they were doing. I had to tell the the correct tools to use and they did a half *** job. It’s a little better then they started but nowhere near a professional job.

I am very pleased, The crew was very punctual. The head painters Andy and Sean we very professional. They answered all my questions. Both were very thorough and knowledgeable . I had scaling and stain issues on my ceiling , they oil primed and resolved the staining problems I had for years. My home looks brand new! I was very surprised on how quickly they fixed everything and finished the work. They took time to address my concerns as they worked. I highly recommend them and will use them in the future when I get my exterior painted in the Spring.

The job went off without a hitch. Job was performed in the time alotted and I was pleased with the outcome.

LaffCo. Painting did an amazing job. I have worked with them before and they never fail to impress. Very professional, clean and reliable, and the work they do is very high quality. I recommend them to all my friends!

On the plus side, Shawn was very responsive, very professional and provided a very competitive quote. Unfortunately, that's where the good news ends. Unfortunately, Shawn was on vacation when the project started and wasn't there to supervise the painting crew. who decided to short-cut every step. The cabinets were not sanded properly, they did not fill holes, and incomprehensibly, they chose not to prime the cabinets before painting. After several coats, we could still see the old color coming through, and in some spots the paint just rubbed off. In addition, there were many spots where they missed completely, they failed to fill and prep the holes where the prior knobs were (which showed right through the paint), and in the end, the cabinets required 4 or more coats because they weren't primed. They came back one more time and fixed most of the issues, but I have no confidence that the paint will hold up without a prime coat underneath. Shawn seems like a decent painter, but unfortunately his crew was completely unqualified for this work. We will not be using LaffCo again.
