James Carbo

Jimmy Carbo arrived to look at the job and to prepare a quote; he was one of four electricians that I'd asked to bid on the job. We had a helpful discussion of the job and some of the pros and cons of different approaches to certain items. He sent the quote promptly, and I called him after I reviewed all the quotes to follow up on a couple of points that the other electricians had raised. He promptly sent a revised quote, which I accepted. We were hung up for a bit waiting for the electric company to unlock the off peak meter (and eventually proceeded anyway; Peco has still not shown up). Jimmy and two of his staff (Scott and Scott) arrived at 6:30 am on the scheduled day; he briefed them and left. They brought an emergency generator to hook up the tv and a fan but they were all done by noon so we never ended up using it. The guys did a nice job cleaning up when they were done. The inspector arrived in a couple of days to give his blessing, which he did. One minor negative: the labeling of the individual circuit breakers was a little hit-and-miss, but I was going to redo it anyway so it was not a big deal. Overall the job went much more smoothly and quickly than I expected, with much less disruption. I'm quite pleased with the result.

We had a ceiling fan that wasn’t working and we wanted to make sure it wasn’t a wiring problem in the house and talked to us about that.  I just retired from Plymouth Meetings Friends School and he has done all the electrical work at the school for many years.  His prices are very fair.
