When we first discovered we had a MAJOR  problem, our honey dipper contractor recommended the Fords.  I called Mr Ford, they came out immediately and started diagnosing the problem.  I was impressed with their responsiveness, as it was apparent that there were severe problems that were indicated when our toilets wouldn't flush.  First the Fords showed up while the honey dipper came so they could examine the inside of our septic tank.  No problem there.  Next brought in heavy equipment to dig up our distribution box (herein called dbox).  Dbox was almost five feet underground, loaded with sludge and cracked all the way around.  That was problem number one.  They next worked backwards from the dbox to the tank, and found that the cast iron pipe that ran from the tank to the dbox was corroded shut, and actually cracked.  This pipe was approx 80 feet long, buried at almost 4 feet, and ran under our macadam driveway.  The macadam had to be cut and removed to gain access to the pipe.  This pipe was replaced with PVC pipe, and a new concrete dbox was brought in.  They connected everything and tested our system, and it worked fine after that.  KEY POINTS:  1.  Responsiveness to our call.  2.  Very knowledgeable.  3.  Very professional in execution of the work.  4.  Very meticulous, checked everything.  5.  Worked neatly.  6.  Put everything back to where it was.  Removed excess soil and excess stone.  They even re-seeded our lawn with grass see.  7.  Came out even after they were paid to check on things.  IN SUMMARY:  Do not freak out over the price.  They were here for nearly two weeks, not every day, but most days.  And your septic system configuration is sure to be different than yours.  So you really cannot compare my job with yours.  I would give them my highest recommendation, and would not hesitate to use them for further plumbing work.  Definitely one of the best contractors we ever had at our house.  I hope we don't have to call them, but if the need arises, we know who to call.
